Well I just don’t know what is going on in my house. If you look back at previous posts, you will see that recently I had an incident with flies, then the pool thing with the alarms going off, and then what happened last night. We have been in our house one year. We remodeled with no odd happenings until recently. I never had any bad vibes about this home. I can’t begin to think that every house I live in is haunted. Therefore, I must assume that somehow I am tuning in to either passerbys, attracting them, or that I have a guardian (I hope, gulp) out there. Here is what happened:

About midnight I have my back faced to the outside edge of the bed. I get two hard tugs of my hair on the back of my head. I am very sleepy and groggy and simply scooted over closer to the center of bed and mumbled something like leave me alone. Why I wasn’t scared of that is beyond me. I even dreamed about a ghost being there and talking to her. I wish I could remember the conversation now. 12:22 a.m. I wake up to let the dog out. When I come back to bed and just get settled, the most awful sound jarred us. A pipe that leads to the toilet in the master bathroom burst and water was shooting everywhere! We shut of the water and all is fine now. Can you imagine if we hadn’t been home? Needless to say this spooked me. Especially just 2 weeks after the pool incident. And coincidentally both happened on a Sunday night/ Monday morning.

What keeps going through my head is, was the tugging a warning just as the alarm clock was? Or was this a disgruntled spirit who decided to get my attention since I didn’t respond to the hair tugging? I’m just not sure. I would like to think a warning.

Uh, yeah! That would be a little unnerving to have your hair pulled! [Shocked] Either I don't recall the pool incident or your forgot to tell us - what happened with that?

I'm thinking that what happened last night could have been a warning, but gosh - how in the world do you interpret a disembodied hair tug in the middle of the night!? [Laughing] Unless, of course, it was so that you'd be more awake when the water pipe broke. Tell me - who woke up first when the pipe broke, you or Bill?

I remember the first mate of the Delta Queen was awakened one night by an urgent whisper, followed by door slamming in another part of the ship, prior to a pipe bursting in the engine room. This seems so similar!

The pool thing was when she forgot to switch somthing on the pool and the timer that was suppose to filter the pool ended up draining it instead - the alarm clock kept going off that night and because of that, she found out what was happening with the pool before it did too much damage.

Wow... now that is a weird thing to have happen. I really wonder if the tug on your hair was actually to get your attention and warn you about the pipe.... or did this spirit then burst the pipe to get your undivided attention? I think maybe smudging the entire house might help, along with just kindly telling them that they do not belong there, and they should leave. Use sage for this smudging, and then smudge with cedar, to fill the house with positive energy. Your house may not be haunted, per se... but, did you bring spirits from your previous house? Often, spirits are pretty good at 'hitching a ride' when people leave a place to move to another. With all of your problems in recent months in your house with illness... both you and Jaeger, it is possible that there are some negative energies there that need to be ousted. The cleansing action of smudging would probably be beneficial to all of you.

Here is a lovely little House Blessing poem/prayer that I found somewhere on the net sometime ago. It might even be nice to print out in a fancy type, frame it and hang it someplace. It would make a lovely needlework, too... for that matter. =)

HOUSE BLESSING

God bless the corners of this house,
And be the lintel blest;
And bless the hearth and bless the board
And bless each place of rest;
And bless each door that opens wide
To strangers and to kin;
And bless each crystal window pane
That lets the starlight in;
And bless the rooftree overhead
And every sturdy wall,
The peace of man, the peace of God,
The peace of love on all.

I don't recall hearing about your pool alarms... did I miss something? That sounds freaky! [Shocked]

Hi I agree with you.

If the spirit meant you harm why would it wake you before the accident's happened. If I was an evil spirit I'd wait for it all to happen then wake you - you know!!
Do you have any dead relatives that cared an awful lot about you or one that you never met - it could be them.
In any case it sounds to me that its someone looking after you and you should be grateful. Pulling your hair was probably the only way they thought to wake you up. And you didn't even wake up properly then!! He he
Keep us updated.

HI, Sounds like someone is watching over you. I think that whomever is trying to help you, I am not sensitive to these kind of things(wish I was) but sure sounds to me like it is helping you.I think that if this is the case, how nice to see that when we pass we still want to help others anyway we can =) . Thanks for sharing Barb

Pandora~ I can't believe I missed this post. How creepy! [Eek!] I think I am just as confused as you on if it was a warning or if a spriit was getting angry and creating bigger problems to get your attention. I guess I would have to lean more towards warning...seeing as they didn't really harm you, or put anyone in immediate danger. BUT the other thing that comes to mind is the possiblity of a poltergeist. They are very mischevious. But once again, I'm not sure. [Confused]
