I have a question for everyone. A few years ago, my hubby, mother in law, stepdaughter and I took a vacation in Southport, NC. (Most commonly known for being the location for I Know What You Did Last Summer)

We went out for a nice dinner, and on our way back to the house, we saw a figure in black walking on the side of the road. We turned around so we could get a better look, because it was so strange.

Being tourists, my mother in law and I both had our cameras. She was in the passenger side, and I was in the back seat, directly behind her. The person (?) was on our side. We both hung our heads out the window, and snapped a pic. I felt bad for it later, I couldn't help but wonder if it was a person in mourning or something. They were dressed all in black, even their face was covered in black. I have no idea if it was a male or a female.

The strange part? When I developed my film, there was not a person in the picture. I thought maybe I took a bad pic, but I noticed the highway sign they were in front of, everything lined up correctly. I looked at my mother in law's pic, and there was no one in hers, either. We are both very good at taking pictures, so I doubt we both missed the person (?) My hubby was driving very slow so we could take them.

Sorry for the long, detailed post, but this has puzzled me since then. I still get chills thinking about it. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? [Confused]

Hi!
I have seen something like this myself.
I live in Ohio, I know duh it says that, but! We have a museum that is haunted. It is The Carosuel Museum in Sandusky.
A lady that worked there pointed a carved black horse, since I was snapping pic's all over the place. She told me that tourists have called to tell her that the horse didn't come out in the pic, but the people posing in front of her did.
They have a step-stool for kids to sit or stand on bedside the horse. This horse also used to be part of the Carousel at Cedar Point which is haunted.
Both me, my daugher-in-law and my sister-in-law took pics with all the kids by the black horse. All of us using disposable camera's bought together that day.
My sister-in-law had her's developed a couple weeks later and the black horse wasn't there? We all took pic's one right after another so? The horse was in ours.
So, yeah it happens? I didn't mean to get off track with your story though, I just wanted to explain how I did experience it. Did you look at the negatives? Do you have them? Perhaps if you blew it up larger you might catch something.
That is really cool though and you have witness to it! Isn't it nice [Embarrassed] ) At least when you tell someone they won't look at you like your an animal cracker!
I bet Mare and Kell will help you with the imaging and see if you cannot pull something out of it!

Thanks, Peg! I'll scan the photos at my Dad's next weekend. I can't see anything at all in them, just a flash reflection from the car mirror in one. I'll check the negatives, too, I hadn't thought of that. I just know the person was there when I took the pic!

I need to look at all of the other pics from that trip. We also went to an old plantation house with a cemetery. I didn't notice anything unusual in the cemetery pics, but I didn't look that hard either.

That's very interesting about the horse! Did the tour guide give any kind of history behind it? Hmmmm... [Thud!]

Sometime those little orb buggers are hard to see. Some are so clear that all you'll see is a small area that looks slightly out of focus. Also, I always have my photos put on a floppy (or cd) when I get them developed. Sometimes the orb is on the very edge of the photo and the person making your prints crops it off - however, it will be on the floppy print and the negative. (I also think having them on floppy eliminates possible scanning distortion.)

The carousel at Cedar Point, Sandusy Ohio is haunted by the wife of the man who carved the horses.
This horse is reportedly taken off that ride many years ago, she didn't know the reason. I say cause it was an ugly horse! Almost totally black.
The whole museum itself has a few hauntings.
Some people call it "The Death Horse." I couldn't find any other info.
Back to your pic's! Scanning doesn't do alot of good. Your right it does most of the time distort them. You wouldn't beleive what I can do to a pic!
LOL
I will try and check into it more about the horse. It's almost time for me to take the grandkids there again. I am gonna catch that sucker! =)
Let me us know if you get something on the pics. Sometimes when you reverse image them? Just a thought!

I'm very new to pics on computers. Are you guys saying if I scanned my pics just to show you guys, it may distort them? Aaaarrrggghhh! I so wanted an opinion! [Sigh]

I'll check them again, see if I spot anything out of the ordinary. I've never really been able to capture anything noteworthy. Wish me luck!

If you've got a VERY good scanner, it won't distort them. Check your negatives though and see if the developer cropped off the edges of your actual photos. That Mostly is the reason I get the floppy.

I think I'm going to start asking for a floppy from now on. I never really thought of that before. Good idea! [Big Grin] My dad's scanner is average, so I don't know how it would turn out. I've noticed facial features not being as clear as the pic, but overall, everything I've scanned looked okay. I'll let you guys know!

I'm going to root around for those negatives, now. I scrapbook in my spare time, so I organize everything well. I also have a light box, which helps when I look at negatives.

Thanks for all of the advice!

I had a similar experience at a cemetery. This is the oldest cemetery here in Corpus. Anyay , we went there during the day, to check out some of the headstones When this lady approached us. She asked if we were with the Lady's auxilliary butterfly society. We answered no, that we were interested in the headstones. As we walked she began to tell us about the oldest grave there a girl and led us in that direction. When we got there , she was telling us that the little girl got sick and died at age 8 . So as she was talking, I decided to take pics of the headstone and another member of the group and of course the woman.Well I took a couple of pics, then another member called for us to another section when I turned around to tell her we were going to go over to the other section, she was gone. We looked high and low for her and couldnt find her. And she didnt com out in the pics.So I decided to try to do a little investigating on this, I went to the library and talked to the historian and these people did actually exist and I found out that the mother and father passed 2 yrs after the child. So, did we encounter the girl as she would have looked in her older years or the mother. Anyhow it was plain strange and unexplainable. Sorry so long =)

Hi I am new on the board, but I am really interested in knowing how you might really know that these places you talk about have real spirits? I am very interested in the subject but not sure how to believe what I see or feel! Please let me know what you think.

Hi Renee and everyone!
To answer your question Renee, I am a sensitive. I usually pick up things, thoughts, feelings, emotions.....sometimes strong. I also get a sense of another energy present.
I am not practiced, so I can't do it on demand, but it has been happening my whole life as well.
I have been to places they say are haunted and have felt nothing, and vice-versa.
I feel it is an extra gift I am lucky to have and wouldn't trade it for the world. It is a part of me just as my other 5 senses as sure as I am sitting here in front of my computer =)
Well, that explains me kinda? LOL [Thud!]
I am a bit more involved than that, but that's kinda it in a nutshell and I am the nut!

Heather, that is so strange! I've never had that happen. I have to agree with Connie though, those orbs can be hard to see. Once you get the picture scanned, you may need to enlarge that area to get a really good look at it.

I bet you do get the chills when you think about it. It gave me the chills just reading about it!

Beckboo, as I was reading your post I was thinking the same thing. Was that the spirit of the little girls Mother? Or was it her as she would have been at that age? I did have one question though, and this is just a thought. Had you checked to make sure that this woman didn't perhaps work there? Maybe giving tours? I know it sounds kind of crazy, but she did ask if you guys were from "The Lady's Auxiliary Butterfly Society" as if she was expecting someone from that group. Either way that is very creepy!

Hi Heather,

I've not had that happen, but it doesn't surprise me. Well, okay, it does... but you know! [Wink] If you can scan and send the pics to me, I'll be happy to post them for everyone's review. =)

Beck, that's a creepy experience! I wonder too about her asking if you were part of that group. Hmm.. Have you ever done any research on the group? [Confused] I'm curious to know if it's from the past or present.

Thanks, Kell! I'll try to scan them this weekend. Maybe I'll see something I overlooked before.

Beck, that was quite a story! I think maybe it was the mother?! Who knows, it's definitely spooky, though [Eek Smile] !
