Hello

I read the post with the link to the sleep paralysis page and I was wondering if anyone has experienced "slide show" type visions during it.

A few months ago (this is something I haven't really been able to shake, or talk to someone about without them thinking its silly) a fell asleep on my grandmother's couch in broad daylight. Before I woke up I had a sp experience (where I couldn't move, talk or open my eyes, you know). I kept seeing these pictures, they looked like trees on a hillside but they were painted, like with black ink and thick bamboo brushes on old creame colored paper. I remember trying to get rid of them, but I couldn't and I heard a voice in my head giving me some sort of warning. (I don't even know what it was, but I know it was a warning)It was a male voice, but I'm not sure about the age.

Is this unusual or am I just really silly?

No I dont think it's silly at all Sarah. I think we should pay more attention to our dreams. Why dont you check out our Dream Moods link and see if that will help you some.

No, it's not silly, Sarah. =) I've had both sleep paralysis and the slide show thing, but never have I had them together.

Were you paralyzed while seeing those things? Did any part of it frightenen you? The scenes, the voice?

Thanks Cindy for the link! It looks really promising but I haven't had a chance to really look at it yet. It looks like it wont be as specific about the subjects as some books are. My friend has an older book which has definitions for things like "kissing a pug nosed woman" and stuff, lol.

Kell, yes I was parylized. I tried so hard to wake up but couldn't, it seems like I got rid of the pictures for a few seconds but they kept popping back up as if I were being forced to look at them. They weren't scary pictures (I remember them as being rather pretty) and the voice wasn't scary, I think they left me confused more than anything. The part that scared me is that the pictures were so persistant and I couldn't wake up. I knew my Grandmother was only a few feet from the couch but I couldn't get her to wake me up. Now that I think about it there were two. One with a hill with one tree on top and several around the bottom and one with lots of trees and a meadow.

Thanks for not thinking its silly, believe me, others have. ^.^;;

Hello! Just wanted to thank you again for the link to the dream site. I haven't exactly figured out the one that I described but I found out that another dream that was fresh in my mind since last year had to do with changes and college and stuff. I think that the dreams I have and what happened during the SP felt so different...

We also figured out what my friend's golden pancake dream was about, lol!

I was wondering if any of you have had any dreams with a specific person in them that you don't know, you've never heard of, and yet you know their name and they have possibly appeared in other dreams. I probably should have started another thread for this but I didn't want to seem like I was flooding the board or anything.

Yes Sarah, funny you mention that. I keep dreaming about somebody that I should know but dont recognize. He keeps pointing to something but I cant read it....also this thing about race cars. Been having them for a couple weeks now. Think I need to keep a dream diary for a while. I'll let you know if I ever figure this one out.

I hope you can figure it out soon, Cindy. At least your person has some kind of purpose. I sort of have one, but he almost always seems to come as an "extra" in my dreams I guess you could say. I feel like I know he's there. In a dream that I had last year before college (when I was really worried about it) I dreamt that my friends were all walking along this sidewalk up to a building (everything was from the romantic period, but I haven't figured it out) but I couldn't catch up so I was freaking out. This tall guy with dark hair caught up to me and accompanied me up the rest of the sidewalk, making me relax and feel better.(I seemed to lose all of these friends due to lack of contact last year, so no wonder they were walking away) Then I had another one recently that took place at a futuristic version of my college (glass walls and such) and I saw him and was so happy. I ran to him with arms wide open calling him "Taro-kun". I realize that -kun is an add on to a name in Japanese if the person is a male close friend. I figured that part of it might be coming from watching too much anime, but I thought back and there aren't any characters that I know of named Taro.

I didn't really want to make a new thread about it because it's something I'm just not sure about and in a way I'm kind of uncomfortable. I could just be exaggerating for all know ^.^;;

And my friend's pancake dream was so funny. He dreamt that he ran into this group of all of his friends and they were cheering his name and in the middle of them was a table. He sat down at the table and women started bringing him stacks of golden fluffy pancakes. Everyone started to cheer him on while he ate and when he wanted a new plate of them he would yell "bazoo!" So since then bazoo has been an inside joke.
