This was in our newspaper today and is one of the most disgusting neglect cases I've heard of in a long while. I am sickened! I do hope these two parents get what they deserve.

This is a sad irony indeed, when so many Americans are more than willing to adopt a child and give him or her the love and care they deserve. Carrie and her husband know all too well just how dificult it is to adopt a child... when there are people all around us who all but throw their children away. This family with the caged twins have 5 dogs... but they aren't in cages, evidently. Why, oh why, don't people take the precautions to prevent unwanted pregnancies? If they insist on giving birth to these children, why not give the child a chance by putting them up for adoption? Surely this mother knew that things would be nearly impossible for them, with a father who was 64 years old when they were born? He is now 69, and can't handle being around kids, and so the kids have to suffer something so brutal as being caged, and not even taught how to speak or eat regular food. I am absolutely mortified at what these children have suffered and endured.

Let's all keep these little ones in our prayers, as they have a very long journey to becoming a real person, a human being... the child that they were intended to be by the Creator who gave them breath. I hope these parents suffer anguish about this for all of their days.

things in this world just keep getten worse.that freak should be doen more than just limping.Some people would give anything to just have a chance to raise a child, even if the couldent have one on there own.. to be honest they both should get life or someone should take theres SLOWLY. Some people were just put here to the devils work..

(Phoenix, AZ) -- The twin five-year-old boys Phoenix police say they found in filthy cages over the weekend were reportedly known to Child Protective Services workers. The "Arizona Republic" reports the agency received a neglect report about the children on a tips hotline two years ago. But the case was not investigated by a caseworker. It was instead referred to a voluntary program aimed at child abuse prevention.

That is absolutely terrible! I don't understand how any person could treat another human being like that....especially their own child! It disgusts me! I can't imagine even treating a hamster that way....any animal, let alone a human being. How could this woman live with herself, seeing her own flesh and blood literally tortured everyday knowing full well she could prevent it? So many people, as you mentions Mare, go through the agony of finding out they are unable to have a child and then are forced to endure a grueling adoption process. But they do it...and they wait and then they treat those children like gold. I don't understand how the people that can't have children are the ones that would be the best parents.
Hopefully these little guys will make a full recovery mentally and find a family that will give them the quality of life that they deserve.

I cried when they said when they were let out they both opened up their arms to be held and hugged.
I just hope the system works and these children are given good home with caring families and they are somehow to erase this from thier little minds.

I've been avoiding this thread because it makes me sick to think of how some people treat their babies. I cant read the article yet but I did hear a little about it. I hope they suffer for the rest of their lives for what they did!

Peg, that's the only part that gives me hope - that these boys opened their arms and wanted human contact. Now, if they had huddled and tried to keep from being touched, that would have worried me even more. I know they will still need intensive therapy, but that was a good sign.

A piece of good news... our Attorney General (Rick Romley) may call an investigative grand jury on CPS for letting this case slip through the widening cracks!
