hi, i have a odd story. my room is in the basement and i currently live with my mother who has health problems.. well, i have this doll i bought on ebay, an ooak doll [ooak dolls are dolls where the face and other parts have been repainted to kind of make a new doll] she was remade to be a gothic kind of horror doll, even though she is still cute as can be. well when we take the dogs outside [they sleep in the garage at night with their little beds, because im afraid bigger animals would get them if left out at night] they go through my bedroom. now this hasnt happend for a little while [that im aware of] but nala [one of my 3 dogs, there is also vampira and pooch] would stop and look up at angela [the ooak doll] as if she were talking to her. her ears would go up alert like angela was talking to her, and nala would be very interested, giving her full attention to her. i would call her to come outside and she would not budge. she would keep her attention with angela. this happened regularly for a while, and i was amazed and amused by it.. i never thought it was anything evil, for one thing i believe animals and childern know when evil is around and will let us know. once during one of these episodes she actually jumped up on one of the boxes in my room to sit right up in front up angela and just sat at attention, like she was listening to her..i wish iwould have gotten one of these episodes on video, it was something to see. but, i did make my daughter come down and witness it, as well as my younger son, who helps put the dogs out. another weird thing is that nalas mom, pooch, digs at my carpet in this one spot near to where angela is, and its always the same spot i dont know what this could mean. my bed used to be where all this interesting things are happening, and i used to feel out of the blue a icy feeling on my legs sometimes when lying in bed, regardless of weather tempetures.. im wondering if it may be some kind of ghostly activity the reason i say this is one thing my family is prone to being sensitive to this kind of thing, but also we live on property that used to be part of kolbs farm, in marietta, ga. there was a battle on this land during the civil war. just a little more info... im sorry this is so long. but once my daughter saw someone coming up the stairs and thought it was me or my mother, but when she looked it was, she said, a man in a muddy uniform and then he disapeared. one last thing, also my son, he is 8 years old, has told me a story, more than once, about him and his little bit older friend seeing something out by our backyard gate. they claim they've seen a ghost of a little girl jumping rope and then falling on a sharp object sticking out of the ground [i cant remember what he said the object was] and it going through her heart area, he doesnt say heart area, just points there.. so i guess there are things going on around and about my house, and just wants some other peoples input or thoughts. i have to say i never felt anything negative or evil regarding any of this, thanks for reading and i hope it was too long or boring. sincery, michele

Indeed, having a house built on land that once had a battle take place could definitely have some activity. It sounds like there is! =)

As for the dog(s) digging at the ground, I was puzzled when our Beagle did this in various parts of the house - sometimes even on the linoleum floor. I'm pretty sure there is no mystery behind it though. Instinctually, dogs like to burrow into the soil where it's cooler. I think in an effort to find a comfy place to lay in the house, their instinct takes over and they do a bit of digging on the carpet/flooring.

Interesting about your dog's reaction to the doll. Does he look directly *at* the doll, or just her general area? Maybe you should try recording in that room sometime. Who knows... maybe it's that little girl your son told you about.

Wow, Michele, you have some activity going on there! Civil War battlefields tend to be particularly active, especially since you seem to have seen ghostly soldiers.

The girl falling on the spike is probably an imprint that will replay over and over.

As for your doll, it could have a spirit that's "attached" to it. I've read stories of "haunted" dolls, and other antique objects that a spirit stays close to. Perhaps it is a child who loved that doll when he/she was alive. Or maybe one of the spirits on your property (maybe the girl) likes the doll and hangs around it, and that's what your dog is seeing.

I suggest taking some pictures when you (or your dogs) sense any kind of activity. You might just pick up something!

Put a tape recorder in the room with the doll and record. Maybe you can get an EVP of the spirit talking? Worth a try.

Whoa, it sounds like you have a lot of activity going on there! I can only echo what everyone else has already said. I would definitely try the tape recorder and/or taking pictures of the doll when your dog starts staring at her. Have you ever tried taking pictures around your home or property? If so, have you ever captured anything unsual on film?

Definitely keep us posted and let us know how everything goes!

thanks for reading my story. when nala was paying attention to the doll she looked directly at her, just as if i were talking to her. i really wish i would have gotten it on film. she would move her head as if intently listening to her, with lots of interest. i would be calling her outside, and she would start to come outside then turn back to the doll, like she called her, and then run back to the doll. it was as if the doll had more control over what she did than i did.. my family has gotten some pictures with anomalies, once during christmas, a white mist was in the picture, and lately we've be getting lots of orb pictures, but my son's father died april 2001, so that could be him too. my room somehow seems to be most active with things. ive always seen shadow people moving about near and coming out of my closet maybe its the soldier. i cant tell, its always out of the cornor of my eye, but definitly there and very active. but i still feel whoever or whatever is there is benevolent. i would like to find out exactly what the layout of kolbs farm was during its time and other properties that may a been connected with that land. oh i almost forgot, when i first moved in, at about four in the morning i would wake to someone walking around upstairs, it would go on for a while, so i would go up to see why someone was up at that hour. everytime i would check, everyone would be sound asleep. that hasnt happened for a while though. i am going to do some more investigating though, and definitly use some of your great ideas for checking things out. i'll let you know if anything interesting comes up, thanks again for all your input, sincerly michele
