I had to write about this, it happened just a couple blocks from my mothers home outside of Detroit.
A bunlged robbery of a Party Store ened up with then nephew of the owner dead, another employees critically wounded, and three customers dead also. Also, another customer wounded critcally. Four dead, two severly wounded and the man that did it, killed himself while surrounded by police in Detroit.
This man killed a fellow student in High School in 1989 (the armed robber) and why he was ever let out is beyond me.
I feel it cost these innocent people their lives years later.
It just hurts because I remember going to this Party Store as a kid and it is so close to where my family lives. It has scared me, due to my family living there. And as my sister said, she would stop there to buy cigarettes from time to time.
God Bless the lives this truly sick criminal took for no reason.
The robber got no money, his girlfriend helped him.

I dont understand why he was ever let out after he murdered the first time?? Such a sad story and my heart goes out to all the victims and their families =(

Seems this man killed a classmate when he was 14 years old. Under Michigan law at the time he couldn't be tried as an adult. So, he was set free at 19 years of age.
Michigan law has changed since this, luckily.
I worry about my family. My brother got way out of the Detroit burb's 3 years ago. My sister lives 2 doors down from my mother.
I have told them over the last 15 years I have been in Ohio, this is a different way of life down here. I love Ohio.
Crime is running rampant not in Detroit but out in the burb's anymore.
Well, that is how he got out. Murder someone and serve only 5 years? It sickens me.
