This happened to me personally when I was 19, 16 years ago.

I went to bed one night and dreamed that I was sitting on the couch in the livingroom, waiting for something to come that I was expecting to arrive. The kitchen window was open and I could hear footsteps slowly walking down the sidewalk by our apartment building; I sat patiently, waiting for this thing to arrive. Notice the term 'thing': I knew what was coming was something and not a person. Yet, I was not afraid and continued to sit there, a smile on my face.

The footsteps kept coming slowly around the bend and then came past the door and down to the end of the sidewalk and stopped. Silence reigned for a moment or two and then the footsteps could be heard slowly turning and coming back up the sidewalk, walking up the stairs to the front door and opening the screen door in front of the main brown door (which, when you walk in, leads you to a short hallway and into the kitchen).

The doorknob on the door started to turn, slowly at first then rapidly. I could see this from my perch on the couch in the livingroom; still I sat, waiting, with a smile on my face; I felt no fear of what I knew would shortly come in. I was waiting for it. I was ready for it..whatever it was.

The door flew open with a crash and in walked the most beastly looking ogre--That's about as close as I can come to describing the horrid beast I saw walk into the house--I have ever seen in my life. About five-six feet tall, 2 inch tusks going up from the lip and up into the nose, and two identical tusks going down;sprouts of wiry fur sticking up like tufts on its hairy body; long six inch tongue hanging grotesquely from its mouth, drooling and gibbering, a crazed glint in its eyes. There was something really weird about this ogre, though: it was dressed in my brother's jackt, my Dad's pants, my mitts and my sister's scarf around its neck.

In its left hand it held a knife and gibbering and groaning, it lurched slowly from the hallway and made its way into the livingroom toward me. I was still smiling, still unafraid, waiting on the couch as this horror slithered and lurched toward me. Before it reached me, I woke up...and found myself sitting on the couch, precisely where I had been sitting in my dream.

Dazed, confused and a bit scared, I took off upstairs and hid under the covers; I couldn't get to sleep until sunrise.

At about 7:30 A.M., I walked downstairs to greet my Dad, brother and sister and told them of my strange dream, adding that I had woken up on the couch. My Dad scoffed and dismissed it as only a dream but I wasn't so sure it was *just* a dream.

My sister shrugged it off until she went outside to unlock her bicycle for the six block bike ride to school and then came running back in to tell us that her tires were slashed!

"What?!" We were dumbfounded.

"Someone slashed my tires!" my sister repeated, visibly upset. I couldn't blame her for being upset, really, but it did prove that my odd dream wasn't *just* a dream. The footsteps that I had heard walking past the building had stopped at the end of the sidewalk, precisely where my Dad had set up a bike stand!

My sister looked at me and I looked back at her, our faces sharing the same thought: that thing had had a knife in its hand and my sister's bike tires had been slashed. It WASN'T just a dream! That was scary; my sister admitted to me some years later that I had really scared her that day: she said, "My God, I thought that you were psychic!" when my dream had turned out to be something more than that.

Has anyone had this happen to them? Its downright weird, that's for sure..seeing an ogre with a knife in a dream and then my sister's tired are found slashed the next morning.

I also had a dream of a woman, whom I had not seen before, four years before I actually met her in 1989. I didn't forget the face and didn't think much of it until I started going with this young fellow in 1989 (the relationship didn't last very long, a few months at most) and he invited me to meet his mother. I agreed so he took me to see her. The instant I saw her face, I immediately had the feeling that I had seen this woman somewhere before..I knew I had seen her somewhere though we had never actually met until this moment. Then it hit me: She was the woman that I had seen in my dream four years earlier! Weird. [Eek!]
