We recently took a lot of pictures around our school, and my friend Stephanie ended up with a lot of pictures of some "orbs". We don't really know if they are orbs or not, but Stephanie wanted me to show the orbs to all of you and see what you thought of them.
We were really excited about them, but some of our other friends thought we were weird.

All of the information is on the page along with the pictures:
Steph's Orb Pictures[/URL]
(I hope the link works...)
Please tell us what you think. I thought that the large amount of orbs was too good to be true, but we thought through most of the logical reasons that they would appear but we couldn't come up with anything.

Hey Sarah! Thanks or sharing these pics with us. Thank Steph, too. [Wink]

Well, the first batch do seem to have some good orbs in them, but... I have to say that because of the amount of orbs and the fact that is looks like class was changing during that time that dust got stirred up and is what caused the orbs. As for the ecto on the ceiling in that one pic, I think that may just be an odd reflection of the flash.

I like the moving orb on the stage! Any time you catch an orb with movement (and can verify that it isn't a bug or otherwise logical explanation [Wink] ), that's a good thing! It gives them more credence. =) Do you know the story of the haunting in the stage area?

I often wonder if all the props are part of what make so many 'backstage' areas so creepy. Lots of second-hand stuff, lots of unknown mojo! Between that and the emotion that is expended for stage performance..

The orb in the pic of the puppet looks good, too! [Wink]

Good job and keep up the good work!

Yeah I thought that the ones with a gazillion orbs were a wee bit suspicious. The dust thing makes perfect sense, but maybe... just maybe... there's a real orb or two floating around in there ^.^ lol

I really didn't even notice the so called ecto until I looked at it on my laptop computer. You know how they can make things stick out in pictures sometimes that you wouldnt even notice, just by looking at it at different angles (if that makes sense)

Yeah, it was just downright creepy backstage that day. They usually have the auditorium lit so we were walking in the dark with two guys who were probably waiting on the perfect chance to scare the daylights out of us.

I wouldn't think of backstage being a very buggy area, so maybe we did get a real one there ^.^. I guess there's no way of really telling. It's nice to think that we got something, lol. I'm still curious about the red orb though.

I'm not really sure about the story behind the hauntings in the backstage area. I know that a lot of things get moved around and I think I've heard someone say something about seeing something up in Heaven (which is up around the top of the theater, you take the same spiral staircase that leads you down to Hell, only you go up instead of down). I'll ask around. I know some people who spend a lot of time backstage in the green room late at night.

Hell is the creepiest place when it comes to props. Every now and then they switch the props out. There used to be a casket in there. There's also old fashioned lamp posts, telephones, and typewriters. Right now there's one of those creepy human body models, like what they show you in health class where you can see the different bones and organs and stuff. And of course there was that strange orange monster puppet.

There are a lot of other strange places around the campus too. A couple of the dorms are supposedly haunted (I'm never in them though because I commute) with reports of seeing things and horrible dreams. There's also an attic in one of the buildings on campus that has a huge, heavy, hard to open door, and inside there's a lot of dead birds, puddles of candle wax and a few random chairs. The rest of it is empty. At least a couple of my friends say that. Sounds too weird for me to ask them to take me, lol. I just wish that there were more information on the history of the college relating to hauntings.

Well, thank you for taking a look at the pictures ^.^ I reported everything back to Steph last night. We might just go back stage and down to Hell again when possible. There's no way I'm going up to the Heaven area up stage (if you go all the way up you supposedly end up on the roof). It's waaay too dark and potentially dangerous to a clutz like me.

Thanks again!

I was checking out the September ghost pictures on GhostStudy (they're listed under SpiritKeep's "Visit our friends" feature). And they listed the rules they follow before posting pictures of orbs. Although I believe there are exceptions to a couple of these, here they are:

1. Should have the appearance of motion.
2. Round but not necessarily perfectly round.
3. Should not have a nucleus or cell wall.
4. If you are constantly getting orbs in your pics, it is dust.
5. If there are several orbs in the pic, it is considered dust.
6. If the orbs are diamond shaped, it is a defective camera.
7. If the orbs are especially faded, they cannot be considered.

Here's my opinion and suggestion - one thing you can do to eliminate the possibility of dust is to take more than one picture of the same scene (one right after another) - if the orbs appear on the first picture and not the next, it's not dust - if the first picture shows lots of orbs but the second picture shows the orbs moving upward, it's not dust as dust also reacts to gravity and would be moving down unless there is a heating or airconditioning vent that might be moving it upward.

Please don't be embarassed Sarah. Those pics show promise. Doing as much as you can in a public hall to eliminate dust, I'd try it again.
