Hi everyone -

My mother passed away on September 4th. I was flying home when she died as I had received a phone call from my sister telling me she was close to the end. I booked a flight within a day but didn't make it in time which was probably for the best. She was 89 and suffering from demitia. I was lucky to have flown home 4 weeks earlier and she was having a good day and recognized me. So I said my final goodbye. Anyway... this is the weird thing.

I flew home on Monday the 8th. That night I had a really weird dream. My mother was walking through my house here in Texas with me. I was showing her the place. (She had never seen it) As we walked through she was noticing all my cats (we have 7 of the furry critters). Suddenly she said, "Reni, how can you have these many cats?" I woke after that and remembered the dream. I wrote it down in the notepad I keep next to my bed and went back to sleep.

The next day I called my sister to tell her about my dream. She told me she got shivers because it was exactly the way Mom would have said that, even down to the "these many" phrase.

My father died 11 years ago. He visited me as well before he passed on. I am getting shivers now...

Wings,
I'm sorry to hear that your Mom passed but it sounds like you were prepared for it and I congratulate you on leaving nothing unsaid.

Also congratulations on the dream. If you think about it, your "shivers" will turn to "warm and toasty" because she's now able to visit the ones she loves as well as make the occational "Mom" type commments and advice. Enjoy the vivid dreams - it's the safest type and usually the clearest type of contact.

Wings, I'm so sorry about your Mom. =( I am glad that you sound to be doing well. Your dream sounds like it was really neat. I have no doubt in my mind that it was really your mother visiting you and I am glad that happened for you.

Wings, I am so sorry to hear about your Mother's passing. But, it is great that you have had a visit from her. ::hugs::

At least, you got a bit of communication from her, unlike what happened to my husband when his sister passed away a couple of years ago. He saw her head floating through the bedroom, but her body was invisible. Her mouth was moving, but he didn't hear any words. This happened when he was still awake and trying to go to sleep on the day after she passed away. I wasn't in the room at the time. Her son didn't inform us about her death until a few days later (which made me rather angry at him for not telling us sooner) My husband has always wondered what she was saying. [Confused]
