Last tues. night (Sept. 30th), I took my 29 yr. old niece from Delaware out on a good ol' Iowa Ghost Hunt. We went to a location here in Cherokee, Ia. where a man had supposedly committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with a shotgun. This death occurred prior to 1993.
I work with the victim's sister, who insists that her brother would not commit suicide, and she feels that his girlfriend was the one who pulled the trigger. The local police didn't see it that way.
Anyway I asked my coworker if she would be disheartened if I were to go to the site of her brother's death and test the area for any spikes on my EMF Detector. She said she was fine with that, and would be interested to know what our findings were.
We checked the yard where the house previously stood. He supposedly died in the bedroom. (Having lived in the same house years earlier, I was familiar with where the floor plan would have been, were the house still standing.)
We didn't detect any spikes on our meter, but we did take a few pics. Which have yet to be developed.
It should be noted that we forgot to say our opening and ending protection prayers. We also visited another site of a haunting around the corner from this street. Again not saying our protective prayers.
Finally we visited the public cemetary on the west end of Cherokee. Having had no spikes on our EMF Detector at any of these locations, we decided to snap off a few pictures any way. My niece was using a digital camera, and I a standard 35 mm camera.
At the public cemetary a deer ran across the cemetary road right in front of our SUV. For the lack of anything else exciting happening we decided to take pictures of the deer. It would scamper here in there as our headlights spotted it as it moved about the cemetary. First there was one deer, then two deer, then three deer. But none of them would leave the confines of the cemetery. They did seem alarmed at our presence, as they paced franticly to escape the high beams; but never outside the perimeter of the cemetary grounds. There was plenty of access for them to jump a fence and escape into a deep ravine, or to run wild in adjacent corn fields. But none would leave the cemetary.
When we returned home to look at the pics of the deer, none of the pics we took of the deer, with the digital camera showed even a single deer in the pics,! But all the pics had at least one orb in them, and some had multiple orbs. (Now granted some or all of the orbs could have been dust particles as we were traveling on rock lanes. But not a single deer showed up in any pics.)
Coincidently a couple of years ago another niece and I were on a Ghost Hunt in the military cemetary at Fort Leavenworth, Ks.. We also spied a deer running in that cemetary, and proceeded to take pics. of it. When we down loaded those pics., again we couldn't find a single pic showing the deer we were taking pics of.
Keeping this all in mind, I have a working theory that if you see a deer in a cemetary, and you attempt to take it's picture, but end up with deerless photos. Perhaps those deer were actually Spirits manifesting themselves as deer. Sort of a "Spirit Shape Shifter"!
Has anyone else ever experienced similar camera shy deer, in cemetaries?

Another note to our adventure is that when we left the Public cemetary we did say a closing protective prayer to keep any of the spirits from following us home. I thought it would be inclusive of all the locations we visited that night.
However something followed my niece home. She sat up reading in bed till about midnight, then she laid down to go to sleep. No sooner had she pulled her covers up to her chin, did she feel a heavy weight on her chest. She said it felt like someone was sitting on her. She couldn't move her arms, she couldn't move her torso, and she was having difficulty even breathing! She said the "Lord's Prayer" and then she felt the weight lift from her chest, and she was able to roll over on her side, and was able to breath again. Soon after she fell asleep.
I told her I had previously experienced similar sleep paralysis situations like that; and I always chalk it up to a Spirit trying to possess my body. I find prayer to be the solution for ridding the unwanted intrusive Spirit.
At least she will have some exciting stories to share with her friends in Delaware, upon her return flight home!
