Hey gang - first day registered and very happy to be here having been a reader of the boards for a while.

Im an Englishman living in Dixie and am about to move into a big 100-yr old house where I hope something will be going on that I can finally get evidence of....

Been fascinated in the supernatural world since I was a scared little lad who didn't understand a lot of what was going on. Still don;t, and often still scared too =)

I'm always highly impressed by people who manage to capture apparitions on film, and I have to admit I find orbs boring as all get-out, sorry. Im also constantly frustrated at those people who manage to see a creepy face in every photo they take. Doh!

Anyway, looking forward to learning a lot and aharing opinions - I just posted a good list of movies you may not have seen in the movie board, go check it out!

Wow, you people are nice and friendly, very cool. =)

We won't be moving into the old house til next month (we being myself, my fiancee and our 2 dogs) but I'll definitely report/show anything that happens. If it happens.

Don't know too much about the history of the place except that we are the first people to own this house that haven't been from the family that built it. That makes me a little nervous. We also plan to change every single room there (nothing drastic, just removing wallpaper, painting new colors on the walls) and I hope no-one minds. We deliberately looked for an older house because they deserve upkeeping and looking after, and a lot of people just let them fall apart it seems. So, it's getting 2 very loving new inhabitants at least.

Oh - theres also a story we found out about an earlier remodel at the house that found a babies shoe in the wall. No baby skeleton, just it's shoe, thank God, and apparently there was never any dead child there so it must have just fallen in there during reconstruction way back when. At least thats what Im believeing. Nothing is scarier than ghostly children.

And trust me to start off here saying orbs bore me - we're currently living with my fiancee's parents in a house they actually built and decided to take some pictures down in the basement tonight, and lo and behold, orbs in 3 photos. DOH! I should have seen that coming....wonder what they built on? No-one knows anything.

Thanks again everyone!

Sounds like you guys are going to have a lot of fun redecorating!

I agree with you that orbs are boring, but at least they are quiet.....no rattling chains or creepy noises in the night [Shocked]

Keep an eye on your dogs, they'll let you know when ghosties are around!

Hi UberManc - welcome to SpiritKeep! =)

Wow, the house you're moving into should be really neat. I'll be surprised if nothing paranormal happens with the new tenants and remodeling, but you never know. =) Do keep us posted.

As for orbs, yes, because they're so plentiful, they can be boring, particularly when you aren't the photographer. (It's exciting when you get anything on film!) In any case, there are orbs out there that do fall into the paranormal category, so in my opinion, they should still be included in the study - boring or not. I got a shot of one in motion that I actually saw moving as I took the pic - very exciting! It's in the Ghost Photo Gallery[/URL] (scroll to the bottom) if you care to see it. =)

Glad to have you here!

Wow, very cool stuff Kell. It was actually your amazing monthly galleries that drew me here, Ive been checking them out every month since I still lived in Seattle (so at least a year ago) and the other day wondered why I had never signed up for the messageboards where people could actually help me out with questions! Delayed reaction I guess....!

I looked at a bunch of other orb photos there too, and I noticed that the really obvious ones seem to have perimeters (almost like a thicker line around the edge) and all sorts of craziness going on in the center, shapes and patterns, etc. Has anyone in a position of para-psychology related power ever conducted a serious investigation that anyone might know of?
