Where we used to live was very active. We had bought a used trailer (which was haunted) and moved it out on some land (which was also "occupied"). At one time, my then husband was doing some remodeling work and brought home a mirror from a store at the mall that he had redone. You guessed it, the mirror did not come alone either. At first, all was quiet just strange. I can't explain it any better than that. I just knew we weren't alone. Then the marriage turned ugly and we got divorced and it was quiet no more. Big (6-9" across) red orbs floated around in the back bedroom. Once one settled onto the ceiling and flashed brightly enough to wake me and my significant other up. I thought the light was shorting out until I noticed that the flash was a good two feet away from the light. The kids saw a man's face in the back bedroom door. I saw a woman's face in the paneling. There were weird animal screams outside in the middle of the night. It didn't sound like a bobcat, or a dog, or a domestic cat. The only other animal out there in numbers were deer. Do deer scream?

We tried smudging to calm things down. The first time sort of worked. The next time, the pipes to the hot water heater exploded. The next day I heard a voice in the bathroom as I was getting ready for work. A man's voice asked "What are you so afraid of anyway?". I answered "I don't know."

Things were at an uneasy peace for several months after that. Then, a man I didn't know appeared in one of my dreams. We were sitting at a picnic table talking and he told me "You have a lot of nice stuff, you need to find someplace else to put it." We were gone within months.

My question is this: I have always been under the impression that orbs can't be seen by the human eye. They move too fast, whatever... So why did I see them? What were those flashes? Most of the "badness" for lack of a better word seemed to come from the back of my closet. On the other side of the closet wall hung the mirror from the mall.

WOW! I have always heard that antique furniture could carry "things" with them.. but I've never heard of anything like this before. You actually saw red flashes on your ceiling? *woah* I'm afraid I can't help you on this at all. I'm fairly new at ghost hunting and experiences. Don't worry though! The people here are excellent. They will help you understand what you saw and what may have caused it. I will definately be checking back to read what they post.

I do have one question for you.. do you still have the mirror? If not, where is it now? Ok so I have two questions..lol Have you had anything weird happen since you left the trailor?

Good luck on figuring your "experience" out!

Love & Peace,

Yes, we do still have the mirror. It's hanging on the wall in my bedroom. We have a small mandela with a wolf painted on it hanging over the mirror and for some reason that seems to have closed the portal. At first we hung a dreamcatcher over it. That was not good at all. I had what seemed to be a weird dream that I was floating and being pulled toward (into?) the mirror. I'm still not sure if it was a dream or real.

The new place seems to be unoccupied -- except for the cat. I woke up from a nap one day to find a brown tabby sitting on my chest cleaning itself. It was downright cute -- except it was transparent. My son woke up one morning to see the cat sleeping in his clothes hamper. We've all seen flashes of its bushy tail disappearing into cabinets or around corners. Occasionally I've seen a yellowish white orb moving around in the bedroom. It moves like a cat.

One day one of our "real" cats was in the bedroom with me sitting beside me on the bed. All of a sudden, she jumped straight up in the air, twisted around and hissed at the wall! I promise you there was nothing there! Nothing that I could see anyway. She ran out of the bedroom and won't go back in it. If we carry her in there she sits by the door and cries. We do have another (real) cat that stays in the master bedroom with us. She mostly hangs out in the bathroom but she does sleep on the bed with us at night.

There was a perfume that used to follow me around. I would smell it in the bedroom and a couple of times at work. Halston. I recognized the scent because I used to wear it occasionally years ago. Shortly after I recognized the scent, my bottle of Halston showed up. I hadn't seen it in so long, I thought we had lost it in the move.
And for a week long stretch, I smelled incense in the bedroom. No one else could smell it, just me.
Since I developed asthma two years ago, we haven't burned any incense in the house. It smelled like Dragon's Blood (if you're familiar with incense) but we don't have any that scent.

There is just something about old mirrors! I bought one years ago and had some odd things happen with it too.
Grumpieone, deer do actually make some weird noises, but I don't think that was the problem at that place. It sounds like you were definitely having some paranormal activity at that place.
I have heard of instances of people seeing orbs with the naked eye. In fact, one of my husband's relatives saw one streak through her living room a few years ago. Also, a friend of mine, who is a dentist, was lying on his couch one evening and saw a blue one hovering over him. As it turns out, his house was quite haunted. At one point, they had a full apparition appear in front of several family member in their kitchen!
If I'm not mistaken, Kell has also seen an orb.

Hi Grumpieone,

Yes, orbs can be seen by the naked eye by some people, but not everyone is able to. Indeed, they do move fast. I've seen them zip around in the house here and even caught one moving on my camera (I saw it as I snapped the pic) - quite an experience.

As for the flashes, it's best to rule out any other logical possibilities before coming to a paranormal conclusion. For example, could it have been car headlights or other ligth source shining/flashing in from outside? Did it happen more than once or follow a particular pattern? Just some things to consider. Personally I've seen orbs too. When I saw them they looked just like tiny clear lights that zip along at a good pace. The ones I saw couldn't be explained by "normal" sources. Other than a possible hallucination.

Carrie's right about deer. They make a strange call. It's very hard to describe the sound. I guess that's the reason why it's not on any Mattell toys. "The deer goes 'huurreeeee,hu,hu,hu'" =)

Well, at least the activity you're experiencing is pretty low key. Phantom cat's are pretty cool because you never have any kitty litter to pick up. [Nutty]
If you are not too scared about it try not to worry about it.
