I just moved to Lake Helen from Michigan where I wuz with the "Michigan Ghost Busters," and I'm am trying like hell to find the location of the St. James Church in Ocala where Jeepers Creepers wuz filmed. I'm aware is has been torn down, but I still wish to visit the site. Can anyone give me directions to the exact spot? All I have so far is "off hwy 40 just west of Ocala" which is no help really.

Also, I filmed a documentary on ghost hunting while in Michigan. For info on it, go to www.smiths-grove.com[/URL] where u can download the trailers.

Maybe someday soon after me and the fam get settled into a home (staying with my mom now), I can hookup with some fellow ghost hunters again here in Florida!

Thanx ghouls and gremlins!

Hi Bonze - Welcome to SpiritKeep! =)

I took a look at your Halloween masks and props - excellent! I'll have to go check out the video, as well. =)

I did a quick google search for that church, but really can't pinpoint anything. Do you know, is that the full name of the church and when was it torn down? That may help. I checked the Haunted Places Directory and it's not listed there.

I found it listed on about 3 ghost hunting and haunted places websites, but don't recall the names. They listed it as such,

"St. James Church (now vacant) This is the Church used in the film "Jeepers Creepers" it lies just west of town off hwy 40. At night the church has a strange fog that surrounds it and strange light come from inside. On the same site, a small graveyard almost touches the roadway and scrambles car radio and cell phone signals briefly."

That wuz taken from ghosttracker.com and all the other sites used almost the exact description. "off hwy 40" is really no help. SOMEBODY has to know. It wuz obviously a known ghost hunting spot before it wuz torn down, which by the way, I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but on one of the sites it had an update dated October 2003 that someone set fire to it, and it had been torn down.

I found this web site about the cast call they were doing in August of 2000 for the filming. It lists several area newspapers - you might try their archives to see if they mention the location of the church.

Hmmmm,I did not know this...THAT"S a tad disturbing-yes?

Hopes of having students visit the set of "Jeepers Creepers" or serve as interns have been dropped since Victor Salva's past came to light.

Seems Mr. Salva has a few skeletons in his closet.... [Sigh]

Still would be neat to find the church though!

Thanx guys! I'll try that number. If I have to, I will drive around west of Ocala dippin off hwy 40 at every road. Hehe. And of course, I'll be back here with pix if ya like.

I'm still shocked that nobody knows where its at. You could bet that if I lived here when that movie wuz shot, I woulda visited that location a long time ago! Ah well...
