I just wanted to open a thread because answering yes or no about anything especially about a belief doesn't allow you express what you really think.
=)

Personally, I haven't formed a belief as to whether Astrology is something that can help one with life or not.
I won't pretend to think that I know so much that I can say Astrology isn't what it's claimed to be nor have I really found anything that convinces me that Astrology is a good tool for helping you live your life as it is believed by many to be.
I'm still keeping an open mind about it and delve into it from time to time.

Does anyone have any stories or claims to the validity of Astrology? Or to the opposite?

I do know that Astrology goes back thousands of years. I believe it was first discovered(created depending on your belief)in India. I've read that Vedic is supposed to be the most accurate and oldest of the Astrology disciplines.
And Astrology certainly isn't easy. Anyone whose seen an Astrological chart would agree.

I remember a small blurb in the news a couple yrs ago about a missed constellation???

Anyhow, it disappeared pretty quick, leaving me thinking of the enormous industry making money off it so hmmmm....

It seems like kind of a harmless thing though...

Ditto. I believe that astrology is a great deal like tarot, ie if you have a gift it can serve as a tool to focus that gift. I wouldn't live my life according to my daily horoscope. Stars have drifted so much, and in some cases died, that the constellations astrology is based have moved from their accustomed places and some no longer even exist.

That being said, when I am in the middle of a possible major life change I dabble in astrology charts to organize my thinking and help me make my decision. Once I did a chart for a co-worker (just for fun) and came across something that said he would be "caught up in a scandel not of his own making". I didn't say anything and it happened. I felt so guilty for not warning him but when I went back through my notes to find that part, that sentence had disappeared! I rechecked my reference books, everything but it was gone.

Grumpieone, can you help me find out what my rising sign is? I'm a Gemini, but I have problems with that. Some of that stuff is true, but off this board I'm kinda introverted.

Maybe I just don't know enough about it,I've never had a chart done. That drifting constellation stuff does make you wonder if it's all that it's cracked up to be.

I cast runes, so I do understand what you mean about natural ability. & runes come in many varieties & are multi-cultured & are some of our oldest known writing. So, interpretation of them varies.
