Our movie based on the ride out at Disneyland about *The Haunted Mansion* had something of a party at the Studio today. They had props, costumes, themed food and such like as they do when most movies open.

Now, I started out at Disneyland in 1970, long before I worked here at the studio. I worked in the Haunted Mansion for a time and let me tell you.... [Shocked] being the there alone was enough to give you chills.

I sa the movie last week and whiel I am no Eddie Murphy fan, if your a fan of the ride you'll enjoy the movie. Everything you can imagine or remember from the ride has been incorporated somehow in the flim and the special effects, the ghosts are awesome!!

I'll be interested in seeing what you all think if you see it. [Roll Eyes]

I was skeptical, but I ended up enjoying Daddy Day Care. So I'll probably rent this one too. =)

I'm looking forward to seeing it -- just the kid in me coming out! I've found I either love Eddie Murphy's movies or hate them, very little in between. I think he has cleaned up his act quite a bit since having kids and is making more "family oriented" films. This looks like a fun one!
Do you think it would be too scary for a mature 5 year old?

Well the real trouble with this film started the eek they went into production. It was written as a comedy staring Eddie Murphy. After a week the director decided that Eddiw was NOT The star but Terrence (Master Garcey) Was and that is should be serious. As a result it is neither.

THe special effects however are first rate!! The score is chilling and fun and while there are a great deal of goulish dead folks com,ing out of the ground there is allot if what I call *Disneyfied* ghosts as well. The talking and singing busts the funniest. 5 years old... may be too young for the shock value in the movie. You may want to see it first.

Hmmmm... it never occured to me until just now but I ought to start a thread about the Hauntings that go on here at the Studio. We have a fair share of things that go on here! (Slaps forehead)
D'OH!!!!! [Thud!]

Iron Bess, please start a thread on the hauntings at the studio! I've heard so much about things like that but never any first hand information. I saw the previews for Haunted Mansion a few months ago and it looked like fun -- maybe not for my five year old nephew just yet. [Wink]
