With the help of your suggestions, I have found out some information on my home. I am the fourth owner. The first owner lived there for 23 years and died at the age of 84. The second owner was there one year. The third owner was there from 1973 till I purchased the house in 2001. Currently a searched is being conducted on all family members of each owner. The house has been quiet with the exception of the smell of garlic or something sweet appearing in various spots of the house. I think my son-in-law hurt our friend's feelings. My 2 year old grand-daughter has taken to suddenly saying "hi" to no one for no apparent reason upon entering her room. She does not do this all of the time but each time seems genuinely suprised or happy. The room has been empty on each occasion. We are still quite content knowing we have a friend.

Well, I have to say... there is nothing like having *extended family*. [Nope!]

I've lived in places that had friendly spirits. They made those places more 'warm' for me. When I think about the places that I miss living in the most they were the ones with the nice ghosties.
It's nice to hear about a pleasant one once in a while. I'm glad it's your friend. =)

We had an excellent experience last night.
Our home still has the original furnace. That is a floor furnace with the vents on either side of the wall. Last night I went to turn it on and the key would not turn. I checked the pilot and tried again still nothing. I used my flashlight to look down inside of the unit and one of the kids (probably the two year old) had put paper and a couple of small toys down in it. Now this would not keep the key from turning but I took the coil claw and removed everything. After that, I tried to turn the key again to figure out what was wrong with the furnace and the key turned with no trouble. Personally I don't think the items could have caused a fire (the heater itself is enclosed) but I think our friend did. And you are right about the warm feelings. Our house has always felt homey. We have only been there for two years and yet it feels like it is the only "home" we have ever had.
