OK, I've seen this mentioned in a couple other posts but it wasn't the direct subject of either. So I put it here...

How does one learn of or discover their previous life experiences? I mean, I've heard of psychics being able to read these things but I've never dealt with one, nor do I put a lot of trust in them. (That is not to knock anyone here who may be psychic.)

Are there any other means of finding this kind of stuff out? I've never really noticed anything in dreams or anything, or any other signs for that matter. But I've always been kinda curious about it...

I just wanted to echo Jeff's words. You are the expert on you. Trust yourself.

Hypno-therapy is an excellent way to explore previous life memories.

Hi Nakis and everyone,
I just finishes Sylvia Browns new book out. I do not agree with her on alot of things, but reading this book at this time in my life made me feel better that we all do beleive in a higher power and Heaven, I do anyways. It's the first book of hers that I have read actually.
I am off the subject. Again! I am starting to think I never have had a past life. I tried hypno, didn't work. I am not scared of anything, water, fire, etc. I have nothing?
So, I think that this must be my first trip here or something?
Or maybe my only one?
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Piggerita

Good question Peg. I really have no idea. Not sure how I feel about the past lives issue. I do know I have dreams about places I've never seen before and many of them with lots of detail so it does make me wonder what that's about. Also, ever since I was little, I've had this dream about a big white house, reminds me somewhat of a plantation. There is this huge tree in the yard with a wooden swing and lots of people around having some kind of get together. In the dream I know they are family but once awake, I have no idea who these people were. I've asked some of my relatives and the only thing my aunt, who has been looking into our family background, could say is that some of our family history comes from the deep south. The fact that I've had this dream for years makes me think it might mean something but what, I have no idea. Interesting subject though!

Peg, you could be a very new soul or an old soul that has lived very calm and uneventful lives. [Wink]

Seriously, even if you did not have good and trauma free past lives, you may not have been the type to bring those issues forward. If something is there and needs to come to the surface, it will at the appropriate time.

Did you ever meet someone for the first time and within five minutes of talking feel like you've known this person for a long time? Did you ever walk into a place where know you've never been before and have a feeling that it's all too familiar? Have you ever taken an immediate dislike to someone you only just met? Those could be slight indications that you've led a previous life and that those places and the souls of those people were somehow involved in those previous lives.

Hi, its me just call me flake! LOL Well, I am trying to be cheery!
Most of what I feel in the situations you described and I know alot of people that have them. But I seem to have them sort of backwards, then some people.
Instead of feeling like I had been there before, I feel that this was something I had forseen in the future. This started in the 1st. grade with me so I could have it all wrong.
And the feelings/vibes I get from people have never been that I knew them, I feel good or bad or indifferent. But I do pick up on their vibes and sometimes it's scarey.
Lets face it, I am nuts! I told you all I am but in a good way. I just see alot of things really different than most people. Heck, sometimes I see things they don't? LOL
OH my, I have been up all night and I am getting goofey..............but this is the truth how I have always felt.
Huggers people!

I really agree with Jeannie "If something is there and needs to come to the surface, it will at the appropriate time."

As a therapist I work with 'past life regression'. It isn't something that everybody has to do, or wants to do. If there is healing that needs to take place, it will appear and guide you through the work. I would suggest that you not accept whatever others say, but trust only your own experience. No matter how good a psychic is, the work will still be coloured by his/her perception.

If, after reading this, you still have a yen to find out who you were, are, and will be in the future, then you can visit someone trained in working with past lives, or you can try this:

Find a comfortable spot where you will not be disturbed, and allow yourself to go into a quiet space within yourself. Check in to make sure that you are feeling safe, and then allow some thoughts to drift in. If something comes that holds lots of energy, think about how it affects you, and what your emotional body has to say about this, and then just let it go, and look up into the sky, and follow the brightest star. When you arrive there, you can either look down, or come back to your body, and, with eyes closed (unless you 'see' better with your eyes open) look down at your feet and see what you are wearing, and then get a feel for where you are. Become the 'observer' of the scene.

While I don't suggest you do this alone, if you really have a calling, then go ahead. I think we each have to trust our own instincts.

As for never having been born, my experience with these people is that they usually are surrounded by a blue energy and, when made aware of this, are able to feel it.

Moonchild,
What if you are so high-strung that the 1st time you were prescribed valium, you took 2 & still couldn't sleep? I've never been able to be hyptnotized... I wish I could. Have you worked with anyone like this? Any advice?
I feel real strong connections to colonial times & medieval times. That's all I know. [Sigh]

The exercise I suggest isn't hypnotism. If there is a specific period you like you can just sit and imagine a scenario. Put yourself in the space/place that you most like, and then just become the observer....and see what happens!

Hi everyone!
Hallow, I tried several times to be hypnotized and she couldn't do it. I went to a very highly repsected hypnotist. She was named top female hypnotist in the country.
She said my will was too strong, in other words my mind wasn't open to suggestion.
As this was years ago and looking back, I really think I don't have a previous life? (yet maybe?)
There are some that beleive if you can get in touch with your spirit guide, they can help you in past lives information.
Pass the valium!
Love ya!

Can you imagine how traumatized I could be in my next life? I think about that, I do.

LOL I was serious! :)I depend on my Olay! I have used nothing but Olay on my face since my parents got a free sample in the mail when I was 16 years old LOL!
And now, thank the heavens, with this new revitalizing stuff! Just when I needed revitalized don't ya' know?
But even its got me once! I bought a jar a couple years ago, and I didn't know the jar was broken to smithereens inside the box. So, one morning getting up for work, I flip open my new jar only to have flying glass go into my eyes? That's me =)
Procotor and Gamble were really nice and sent me some more stuff to keep me looking less then 100 years old [Wink]
I am living 10 lifetimes of insanity in one, but Oil of Olay keeps me looking like I am only living one? How's that for a new commercial? he he
I think it kinda rocks?
Love ya'
