When I was younger, about 10 years old, we moved into a new house. It was newly built, so no one else had lived there before. I woke up in the middle of the night once and looked at my clock which read "3.29". I watched it for a moment, trying to get back to sleep, but when it turned to 3.30, I heard what sounded like drums outside my door. Just a monotonous beat at first that gradually got faster. Shadows started jumping from my door to my wall. My curtains were open, but there was nothing outside to explain the shadows. The shadows looked a bit like tree branches, but not. There were no trees outside my window and I was on the second level. At 3.31, the drumming stopped and the shadows disappeared.

I have no clue what it might've been and maybe some of you might have a theory. I don't know much about the area we lived in apart from most of the houses being newly built. The next time I go back to the town, I'm going to try and find out any additional historical information about the area we lived in. So what do you think?

ok, seeing as your house was newly bulit. There might have been something that happened on the ground where your house was built. Do, what I am now currently in the process of doing....go to your town hall and see what was on that land before your house, when you were little, was built.Or you might want to check out the local library to see if you can find anything out there.
Let us know what you come up with! =)

I have to agree, maybe something that has to do with the land? Could be some kind of imprint, although if that's the only time that it happened I don't know if that would make sense. I would definitely look into the history of the land that your home was built on. Let us know if you find anything. =)

What you wanna bet the house is built an ancient indian burial ground? The drums, the shodows jumping or dancing. sounds like a ritual to me.
If this is the case there may not be a record, it could be yet to be discovered. Strange about the timing as if the spirits knew you were awake at this time ... or could they have awakened you? Just to let you know they were there. Anyway just my thoughts on the info you have given.

No indians in London! Trust me on this one! I think you may have heard a wild medieval party, after all, drums were all the rage back then, and they did some really hard parting-beleive it or not -even back then .They had many cerimonies involving drums.Armies marched off to war with drums beating. People were hung ,by the drum beat!Heads were taken clean off with the roll of drums! Was this after a storm,or was it raining? Did anyone else hear this thing? Might want to ask around.(read my story"Fight without a trace",under ghost stories Bill goodman)You might have to "pry " it out of them with a pitch-fork,as people don't like to admit to what is not exactly "sain" conversation.Older people might be more willing-- then the young. Children --will tell you -always- if they heard anything.Check your date with historic dates . Local Historical societies are really great for this. You might get the shock of your life. We'd like to get the shock of our lives too,so if you find out anything it would be great to hear about it.I know that people got dressed up for different things like,"The right of spring". "String theory" -which many scientist are beginning to believe- proclaims that there may be many realities dwelling on same land mass, all at one time,or many "times".An't it great! And here they thought they had it all figured out! April fools on science!

lol... This didn't happen here in London, it's further north in Midland. [Wink] But as I said before, next time I'm in Midland I'll be doing some searching for more information! And no one else in my house heard it. They were all asleep.
