I agree with Peg, make it a habit to write down what you can remember every morning. And it usually helps (for me, at least) not to hurry too much in writing it down. Just lie in bed with your eyes closed and try to stay in the dream, sort of re-living what you just dreamt, repeating it in your mind. Dont try so hard that you lock yourself into the problem, try to relax.
