I had a dream last night. My grandfather (who passed away the week of thanksgiving) visited me. This dream was very realistic (lucid) like he was really there. We talked about little things like always. But one thing he said at the end really has left an effect on me that I cannot shake.

He told me "Question everything you have ever been taught". As far as he is concerned, I am christian. I am wondering if this is what he is talking about, or if it was everything in general. Like EVERYTHING.

At any rate, I thought I would share this. I can still "feel" this dream. Which is weird. I usually don't feel dreams. Maybe tired after them, but, not like this. It's like it is in me still.

I must be doing okay then because I DO question everything =) I take nothing at face value anymore. That's probably the message he wanted to get across to you. My daughter and I both have had similar dreams as yours.

I think when a dream has an effect on you like that, there must be some deeper meaning to it.

The dream definately has a meaning. Although I am no dream interpreter; I think your grandfather is telling you to be very critical about what you see on tv, read in the papers, and hear on the radio. There is a lot of yellow journalism out there these days. So it is very hard to find out what is actually going on. Plus no politician is ever going to tell the truth. If you ask me they all (from both parties) speak with a forked tongue.
As far as your Christian faith, that is none of my business, but even the Lord gave good advice about those in power in his days, and perhaps his warnings are more relevant today with all of the confusion and rhetoric out there.
I dont really know what to say except be very discerning.
Thanx for sharing the dream;
Tom

Thats why I keep a dream journal. Sometimes I try to keep the lucid dream going long enough for me to remember a bit more. Because alot of the time I can awake pretty confused with all the parts of the dream being mixed together. Not in order?
I never used to dream much, but the last 4 months now it's been crazy.
Trying to figure out the meaning can take time. And I am trying.
When I go to my Mom's house next week, I am hoping for better dreams or even an encounter to figure it out!
Hugs to all........

I think Peg has a great suggestion about keeping a dream journal. Sometimes, it takes a while to figure out the meaning of a dream and then it will suddenly become very clear to us. I had a refresher course in that this week! LOL
I've also had similar dreams. I've taken it as encouragement to think for myself, and not be too willing to follow blindly. Doubt is healthy; people need to weigh the information they are given and decide what is right for them as an individual.
Keep that journal! It just may give you more insight into yourself, and the meaning of your grandfather's words.

Maybe it’ll help to understand the meassage if you look at what other sorts of dreams you’ve had lately. They might be pointing at a fault in some specific area of knowledge, like what authority-figures tell you, or the media, or anything. If so, that may be what you should question.
I always find it easier to understand dreams when I look at a series of dreams. If I don’t understand the message the first time, it could be repeated in a different form. Perhaps it’s the same for you.

Thanks guys. I did ask him for more info the other night during meditation and he came to me in a dream again. He said he is not allowed to elaborate on it (rules of where he is I guess) but that I need to question everything I was ever taught.

I asked him what death was like, and he told me he was surprized. I asked if it was a good or bad surprize and he said he could only say it was a surprize.
