This dream went on for about two weeks straight at the end of December, beginning of January and now it's been occurring for the past few nights.

I'm standing across from a school which looks a bit like an elementary school I used to go to. There are children playing in the schoolyard. On top of the school there's a girl in a white nightgown. She glances over the side then jumps. She lands head first on the pavement. I run over and find her head had cracked open and blood is pouring out. Her eyes are wide open but I know she's dead. The children keep playing happily, even jumping over the girl's body to chase a ball. Soon a teacher comes over with a blanket and covers up the blood, but not the body.

My interpretation is this: The girl represents some sort of movement or standing and the blood from her head is an idea she's trying to get across. The teacher is a figure of authority and covers up the "idea" from the children who represent our society so they can continue with their happy lives.

But I don't know how that applies to me specifically. What do you think? Perhaps a suggestion can get me thinking in the right direction. Plus any suggestions to dream of something else because it's more gory then I described and quite creepy.

Hi Jen,

That is some dream. [Eek!] I can't imagine that you have had to experience it over and over. I am not a dream analyst [Nope!] but will give you a couple impressions that may be food for thought. First I want to say your view is very interesting and you may be on the right track with it?
Now I may be way off base with this and it is merely a thought but here it goes. I noticed you mentioned the school resembled one from your past so that suggests to me that this dream may be more linked to you than not. Perhaps you have some thought, feeling, experience or idea that you have wanted to get out or get rid of and so the girl represents you (not dying just ending of that feeling or thought etc)? That may be why you are the only one that sees the girl. The teacher may be someone you know that is apart of this or aware of this and you feel he/she is not wanting you to deal with it/express it or is acting like this is not a concern so if they just cover it up it will go away? The children are all others around you who are unaware of your idea or feeling etc (like children who are often unaware of what is going on around them as they play). The only other thought that comes to mind is the premonition dream - I hope this is not one. =(
Something I have done that has worked for me in the past when troubled by a dream is to ask for the answer before I go to sleep. I say a prayer and envision the white light, gold light, green light and purple light surrounding me and ask that I may be able to understand what this means. Sometimes it takes a few nights. I hope that helps a little bit. Wish I had the ability to give you the answers and I hope I did not over step or add any more confusion in trying to look at it with a different view. Sorry if I have. [Nutty]

Good luck with this and I hope it ends for you soon and that you find those answers.

Jen;
I think Cat is going in the right direction. But I have another idea.
I think that Cat was right in that the girl may represent some aspect of you. Since it had to do with elementary school and other children, perhaps it was some activity that you may have had a passion for while a child. Somewhere along the line it may have been repressed, and now your subconscious may be telling you to rediscover that (whatever it was) that you enjoyed as a child.
The white gown is very important as to the meaning of this dream.
I hope this helps, and possibly when you discover what it is that you may have enjoyed as a child, and start doing it again, hopefully this disturbing dream will have a satisfactory conclusion.
Thanx for sharing and I hope I have given you some comfort;
Tom

Breaking it down to the simplest terms> stuff spilling from the girls skull onto the ground. Someone blocks the stuff, but not the spectacle of the girls body.
So there is a person in the way of a revelation, that may not want you to see or notice something, or may not want you to say something. The need to cover it indicates fear of that idea or emotion...
Don't discount that the person doing the covering may represent you also, a kind of reverse subconcious psychology...
That's what I might get from that particular dream the way it was written, & what I felt from it...You being the dreamer- you felt it. Your take may be completely different.
I made it a point not to read the other replies after I read your post, so I'm not disagreeing with whatever else has been written. Just wanted to give ya my 1st impression on it.
Now I'll go back and reread your dream & read the replies. People in here can be so wonderful & helpful, I know there are some good ideas in here. Good luck!-Hope you can figure it out! =)

Ok I read, & I was right those are some great observations! Got me all curious, I have funky dreams like that too!
My question is this...Do you think maybe the white nightgown, the fall from the roof, & the fact that no one seemed to notice besides the authority figure(perplexing) could represent stress? Stress in the form of vulnerability & disbelief or astonishment at the disregard?

Sorry, lol...imagination got sparked. [Eek Smile]
-Oh yea, & may you dream about puppydogs & sunshine! - -

Lot's of interesting points. Tom I agree the white nightgown is very important. It speaks innocence to me. That in turn can lead to your thoughts that this is something that is surfacing from the past when Jen was younger? Also the point from Hallowseve that the teacher may also represent Jen along with the girl. Perhaps the teacher is you today Jen and the girl is you from the past?
One of the most fascinating things is dreams and what they mean. My family along with a few friends often share our dreams with each other and try to source out the meaning. It has been helpful to us all. I have to say though it is a bit easier when in direct conversation as you can then explore questions that come up and when talking about it more details tend to surface. One thing I have learned is that every detail of a dream is important. Many times those little details we may overlook can unlock the clues to the bigger ones. There may still be a couple of other details that you did not mention in your post Jen that you may also want to consider.
One final note on stress in dreams. I believe stress surfaces often in our dreams. It is our minds way to cope with it by letting it go in our dreams. Those can often by scary [Eek Smile]

Cat I definatly felt the same about the white gown and innocence. Very interesting about stress too. That is a good point about the teacher possibly being you Jen. The other children playing without noticing the tragedy has some significane too. Jen since you are reflecting about your childhood in this dream, and being ignored by fellow children with such a tragic end to something that is bothering you is very important too. This dream is troubling you deeply since you are having it over and over. That might be the stress thing that was brought up.

God, it must be frustrating to have the same dream for that long a period! And such a disturbing dream! I really feel for you and hope it’ll go away soon.

The only thing I come to think about (apart from what has already been said) is that perhaps there’s a purpose to this constant repetition of the same tragedy. It could point in the direction of you in same way making the same mistake over and over again (I don’t mean anything bad by that, just exploring all possibilities). I agree with you that the blood from the girl’s head could represent ideas, or thoughts. I also think that the girl is some part of you. So, breaking it up into steps,…

The girl (you) jumps off the roof / takes the step into the unknown.

She wears a white dress / she is innocent / she is naive?

It only ends with the girl spilling her blood / ideas, they are even covered up o that no-one can see them.

Is there possibly some sort of project or something that you got involved in at the same time as you got this dream, and you’re still working on? To me it seems like this dreams warns you that what you are currently doing will not work out as planned. But of course, that’s only one possibility… But it might be a good idea to take a critical look at what you are currently involve in, to see if there’s any substance to this interpretation.

I wish you happy dreams in the future!

Wow, I've got some thinking to do! I had the dream again last night. Additional details about it:

- the girl jumps off the school towards the left (my left when watching)
- she jumps with her legs straight out in front of her, so it would seem that she would land back-first
- there's about two metres of pavement to the left of the school then there's an old, rusty chain link fence (the kind that you wouldn't let your children touch with a ten foot pole)
- it's a bright, sunny day so you get the feeling of happiness based on the weather
- apart from the fence, everything is very clean, no garbage or anything
- on the other side of the fence is a green grassy field
- I usually gag at the sight and try not to vomit
- the girl doesn't seem to have a face, and even though I see her eyes, nose and mouth they don't seem to be there
- she always has light blonde hair (I have dark brown hair and don't know anyone with light blonde hair). Could that possibly be to add to the "happy" atmosphere (sun shining, children playing)?
- the teacher does not seem too concerned when she puts the blanket over the blood, she acts like it's something that happens every day
- the blanket is dark blue

I've written down your suggestions and interpretations so far and I'll sit down to think about it. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out something. Thanks!
