I'm a new member who just joined the club today. I found this site while doing a google search looking for information pertaining to a certain situation.......

I live here on Staten Island, New York. My wife works at one of the local colleges....The College of Staten Island (CUNY) to be exact.

When I dropped her off at work this morning she asked me if I ever heard if the school was haunted? When I asked her why she would ever ask such a question she replied:

"There's been a story going around campus that the other night somebody saw something in the basement in the Adimin Building. The person who supposedly saw the sighting is somebody who most people around campus regard highly as a person of good integrity who wouldn't make up such stories.


I had never heard any stories about the school being haunted, but if you knew the history of the land where the school is located it wouldn't be a surprise to me at all if Spirits roamed the grounds......

The school is situated on the grounds of the old Willowbrook State School. Willowbrook was a State institution for the mentally impaired that was made infamous for its abuse of patients.

Some of you may or may not have ever heard of Willowbrook but it gained its infamy after Geraldo Rivera exposed the abuses in an expose back during the 1970's. Soon after New York State closed the institution and the grounds remained abandoned for years.

Sometime during the mid-90's the State decided to upgrade the abandoned buildings and move the College of S.I. from its old antiquainted location to the new sprawling campus at Willowbrook.

I did a google search and couldn't find any info pertaining to any hauntings in the Admin Building. To my surprise I did find something about the school's radio station experiencing some strange goings on!

So, I guess my point of this thread is there by chance anybody from the New York City area (especially Staten Island) who has ever heard of CSI being haunted? Does anybody happen to have a link I can click on to get any info?

I would like to find out because my Mrs. is now a bit nervous LOL! She works in her office on Saturdays and most times she's all alone up there on the 2nd floor for a couple of hours before anybody else comes in.

Actually I thinks it's a break for me that her particular floor isn't that busy on Saturdays because if I ever get up enough nerve I'd like to walk the halls with a cassette recorder to see if I could pick up any EVP's.

P.S. Oh yeah, I forgot to add that the Administration Building is located where the morgue was situated back during the Willowbrook days!

Hi Gene. I work at a hospital with all kinds of rumors of ghosties and hauntings too. I work the nightshift and have seen and heard some very creepy things myself. We have one hallway that I refuse to go down unless somebody is with me.

I can imagine your wife does get a bit nervous if she works by herself sometimes! No doubt with the history of Willowbrook State School, there would have to be some spirits lurking around the grounds. Good luck finding out more information.
