Wasn't sure if this was the right place to post this, but I wanted to start ameature ghost hunting and I was wondering if there was a good nightvision video camera out there, im willing to go up to $400. I've found camcorders out there that have it, but they are either too expensive or the reviews say the NV isn't very good.

Maybe you guys could tell me what you use to get and idea.

Thanks in advance.

I have a Camcorder and it as night vision it is a Sony. And I love it. The only thing I hate about it is that it is consider analog and I don't have the video card and the cord to get it up on my computer so I can put it on my site. I got it last year. and it picked up some good orbs.

If the camcorder has an accessory shoe, you can add on an infrared video light to boost the one built into the camera. Then the cheaper cameras can hold muster better in the dark.

I have a Sony mini DV camcorder with the Nightshot mode but I haven't used it for ghost hunting... yet.

Just ordered a sony with Nightshot. I didn't know if it was good nv or not, I gambled on that. How is it anyway? Does it display good nightvision picture? or is it hard to understand what your looking at?

My Sony is great. I got it last year. The only problem is that mine is an analog camcorder. And I need a video card and a different cord to be able to transfered the video to my computer to upload to the website.

I have a Sony also with the night vision. I've used it for investigations and it's worked wonderfully. I've even captured orbs on tape. Unfortunatly, mine is also an analog, so nothing on the computer!

I also have the analog Sony with night vision. Does anyone know where one can purchase the video card and cord to upload video to the computer? What exactly should I ask for?

WitchyWomen, you have to buy a analog-to-digital converter box thing. I don't have specific names, but search on google or something. They range from about 150 and up so they get expensive.

Sweeeeet! It really does sound ideal for ghost hunting. Now you've got me wanting one, thanks alot! [Laughing] Maybe when I win the lottery...

Oh, this reminds me of a movie hubby rented last weekend, Eurotrip. It was hilarious, I highly recommend it. Make sure no kiddies are around though.
