I've had two reoccuring dreams for years now (probably 20 years). In the first one I'm in high school and I get my schedule and I can't find a class and I'm always afraid I'm going to miss the class or be late. Sometimes I'll have this dream and in the dream I 'remember' I have a class that I didn't go to all semester and I'm afraid I'm going to fail the class. The second dream is one that I'm in the archway of some sort of monestary looking out. This is always a very peaceful dream and I don't mind having it at all, I'm actually glad when I have it. There is really nothing to this second dream just looking outside from the archway of the monestary. Does anyone know anything about reoccurring dreams - is there something hidden that I might be trying to work through in my mind? I can't really make a connection to my everyday life with the high school one. It is interesting that I went to a Catholic high school (very good experience) and in the second dream I'm in a monestary. I somewhat seriously considered being a nun when I was in high school. Thanks, Madammacabre

Funny, I have the same dream (the first one) sometimes, where I'm in school and and can't find the schedule, or feel like I've missed a class all semester and finals are coming up. This must mean something but I don't know what off hand. I tend to have these in the fall (school starting) or in the spring (finals). But I haven't been in school for nearly 20 years! [Eek!]

As for the second dream (monastery), I wonder if you're looking into a past life or something. Does it feel like a place you've been to, or are familiar with?

I've also had the same dream about not finding my classes, even though I've been out of school for 10 years. I even had a dream last night where I had apparently missed all semester and was showing up becuase I needed to pass the class to graduate. It was bizarre and involved muffins, no idea. I've had other school dreams where I was walking around school naked. Or where I was walking around school either pregnant or carrying an infant, and none of that has ever happened to me. I once looked into some dream interpertation for them, but I didn't think the interpertations really fit me. But I still have school dreams, although when I was in school I never dreamed about school.

I think most people actually get those kind of dreams where you're afraid of missing school, or failing a class, or not being able to find the schedule and so on. I've had a couple too (allthough, I'm still in school for another MONTH =) )I think the school time means so much for our personal development in both the social and emotional plane that it's really not that strange to be having dreams about it for a long time afterwards. BUt I also think the feeling of failing, or not finding the right class, has more to do with the life you're having now, it simply being showed through a familiar setting (school). So if I dare to do some interpreting I would say it probably shows that you in some way are worried about failing, or missing out on something, whatever it may be. But that is also a quite normal feeling, as shown by all the people having this dream. I would see it as a feeling that time is running faster than perhaps we want to, and we're afraid of missing out on some part of life. But I wouldn't take it too seriously, it's completely normal.

The monastery-dream I find rather interesting. I too have had one or two dreams taking place in that kind of environment, and I never figured out what they meant. In one dream I saw a monastery from the outside. A man and a woman went inside it, looking for a book called Diablo's book. A monk came out or the gate and walked towards me with a large old book. He opened it, and the pages started to burn. I was horrified and shouted for the man and woman to come out here, the book was being destroyed. The monk said:
-The green book of Diablo.
The fire stopped. The pages were completely burned.
- Now no-one will ever be able to read it, he said.
I looked up through a window and saw a life-size crusifix on the wall. The man who had gone in climbed up to Jesus, and breathed air into his mouth.

Well, that was kindof a side-track, but I felt I should share that dream with you guys.

Happy dreaming!

I just had to chime in here that I too have had that "School" dream. I'll be going to a class that I can't find because I've missed it all semester and then I panic that I'm going to fail!

I really like your interpretation Wilhelmina, it makes a lot of sense. I just had to post because I couldn't believe that you guys have had that same dream. I don't know about you...but I've always woken up in a sort of panic or frantic state from it.

Glad to know I'm not the only one! =)

I agree with Wilhemina. The school dream is very typical. In fact everyone (who's ever been to school) has had nearly the exact same dream.

Reoccuring dreams are just your minds way of trying to get something across to you. The dream is a message and/or a indicator of something in your life. I've had a reoccuring dream that had to do with flying into power lines. In fact I had one about a month ago(first time in a couple years). This dream indicated my tendency to run from life and my problem with things that seem to have power over me in life. Each time I run into that situation in life I get that dream. The last time I had the dream was because of my surgery. I was having anxiety over turning over control of myself for the surgery.

These reoccuring dreams let you know when you are feeling something or dealing with something in life that you need to pay at least more attention to.

I too have had dreams over and over about being back in high school and I can't get my work done or my classmates don't like me. This must be pretty common! I also(because I work as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital) dream I have a zillion treatments to give to patients and am no where near getting finished! I think it has to be related to life's everyday stresses! You know-the hustle and bustle of day to day life! we are all on such a time schedule! It's like in the older version of THE FATHER OF THE BRIDE with Spencer Tracey and Eliz. Taylor-Spencer has a dream that when he is walking her down the aisle and it is like quick sand and he doesn't think he can get her up the aisle! We all have these deep-seated fears of not succeeding! That's my guess anyway!!
