In addition to the reoccurring dreams, I've also had deja vu dreams, where I'll dream something (usually insignificant) and then will 'live' the insignificant experience some amount of time later. Does anyone know exactly what deja vu is? What is it's purpose? Is this deja vu at all, since I dream something and then it comes to pass later? Oh, I also had a premonition of my mother's death about 3 or 4 years before she died, but this was very different. It was very vivid and when I woke up I was very upset and crying. Thanks for any insight! Madammacabre

Well I can give you the psychological "defintion" of deja vu. Basically the brain takes in everything and tries to make order of it, when the brain takes in similar information to something you have experienced in the past it puts it together in the same way and you get deja vu. At least this is what my Psyiological Psy. prof told me when I asked him. As for deja vu dreams, I have found that I often dream things and then they happen, not exactly how it happened in my dream but it's darn close. If one believes in coincidence, then perhaps it's just the odd occurence that what you dreamed came to pass, no matter how insignificant it may have been.
What does it mean? I have no earthly idea however what I'm thinking is, time is not linear so perhaps maybe when sleeping we pick up on things that may happen and our subconscious works it into a dream. I don't think the future is definite, they are too many variables at any given time but maybe sometimes everything goes exactly the way it did before when we picked up on it in a dream and boom we have dream deja vu.

I do agree in the psychological aspect of the brain trying to make order of things I also don't believe in this explanation accounting for even a small fraction of this subjects experiences. =)

In my experience I've found that Deja-vous rarely have a purpose. Sometimes it has helped me address a situation. Like avoiding things that are not good. I can't tell you how many times I will have a deja-vous and know what will be happening next and I'll change my involvement to suit my wishes. Not that I think that Deja-vous serve as warnings. I think they are just us being in-tune with AllThereIs/Universe/God(whatever you believe) and seeing ahead of time what will happen. I've found that better than 90% of my deja-vous come from sleep premonitions. I do have waking ones but they are much rarer.

While Deja-vous are very interesting, a sign of a greater purpose, a sign of a Greater Being, helf you out if you listen to them and prove that we aren't just meat-puppets, I try not to take them too seriously. It's the dreams of the future (possibilities) and the warnings that concern me. =) Not the deja-vous clips.
