One of my freinds is having a serious problem right now and I am afraid for her safty. Some of you may remember the post form a few months ago (I haven't had access to a computer for over a month now) in which I talked about visiting a houinted house with my boyfreind, David and freind, Crystal. Well, that same person, Crystal is having a lot of trouble with some sort of spirit that will not let her have a momen't peace. At first it wasn't to bad. Scary, nonetheless, but not too bad. The things that went on at first went something along the lines of, a force of some kind would wake her in the night, and, while not letting her open her eyes or say anything would pretty much strangle and squeeze her till she wanted to die...she would only be able to get away from it by forcing herself to talk and saying the Lord's prayer or something along those lines. For a long time whatever it was played games like that every night, not letting her sleep. She finally told her parents about it.

Turns out, her family's been havign problems with this kind of thing for a while. Her mom blesses houses and such things and she's done all that she can, and it will still not leave. It only stopped when Crystal would play her mother's Praise (gospel) music at night. Now not even that helps.

Whatever it is stopped for a while but now has come back worse than ever. Not even the music helps. It's gotten to the point where whatever it is has carved deep, long scratches and un-readable words into her legs at night, and now she sets her alarm clock to go off at ten-minute intervals so she can't slip into a deep sleep, because that's when it seems to happen. Recently, when it was playing one of it's games at night and trying to turn her over in bed, she was able to look up and see the transparent outline of a face, but it mde her shut her eyes again. Just a few nights ago, it had been wiggling her doorknob and banging on her door. She shouted for it to stop and it only stopped when she got up to make sure no one was at the door.

She also hears it outside her room at night. She sleeps in her basement and that where her family's computers are, so there is constant traffic down there all the time, but at night when she hears someone come downstairs and turn the computer on, she'll look out and there will be no one there. She also hears voices and other strange noises.

I know she's not making any of it up. Just the last time I went to visit her we had been sitting on her been and a deep rapy noise almost like static came up right behind me, then a noise that sounded like metal slabs being draged across a metal floor came right after it. Nothing about her house feels quite right.

I don't think it has anything to do with the hounted house we weent to because it started occuring before we ever went. I don't know what to do for her. I'm scared for her asnd I know her mother and father, as well as herself, have all tried everything they can come up with. Her mom is losing hope that there will be a way to fix it. If anyone has any ideas, please help?

Did she buy any antiques or things of that nature? If it suddenly started happening then it would seem she did something to really piss it off. Ghosts and such usually don't start hurassing someone for no reason. If she has bought anything of value (old dresser, book shelf, china peices etc..) that were antiques Id suggest she get them out of her house immediately.
Or, maybe she changed her house around, moved furniture and pictures. remodeling can also cause a spirit to be irritated.

It made marks on her legs??? Wow, I don't know what to say, that's scary!

Since this seems to be a very serious matter, I think it would be good to not only examine things that might be haunted, but also make sure it hasn't got a natural cause. Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not saying she is crazy or anything! I'm merely suggesting that her family looks into whether or not she could be doing things to herself in her sleep, and experiencing it as being paranormal. Now, I do believe these sort of things could be caused by ghosts and the like, but it could also be herself.SAying that, I don't think you should exclude the possibility of it being a ghost/spirit, but I strongly recomend you to check all possibilities, including the natural one. This is serious and all possibilities need to be figured out!

But you said you've also experienced something in the house, when you were with her? That would indicate something more than "normal", I guess. BUt either way, this is serious, and I think she needs to see a professional (whether it's a psycic, priest or psykologist).

We've tried to reason everything out about that, and we're pretty sure it has nothing to do with it just being her- mainly because it happens, on a less frequent basis, to the rest of her family, also. Her gets into the same time of situations quite a bit though never as bad and it sacres her younger siblings. I don't think she's bought anything new. Her personal possetions are very minimal. Her bedroom is very small and pretty much the only things to be able to fit in there are her bed, dresser and desk. Nothing has been re-arranged.

Also what scares her is that in calling a proffesional...well, her mother might as well be a professional in that aspect. She's gone to doctors to see about her mental and physical health, and talked to every pscology teacher she knows and they can't tell her a thing about it.

Hm...You mentioned that she sleeps in the basement, where the computors are? Maybe it would be a good idea to try a different room to sleep in, perhaps the computor-radiation is messing with things. Does this continue even when she's not at home?

I have a silly question to ask which only proves that I watch too much TV.

Are there a lot of power lines very near her house -- especially transformers? I was watching a program on the paranormal on either TLC or Discovery and the show did a segment that seemed to support the theory that high electromagnetic activity often corresponded to increased paranormal activity. If that is the case then it might explain why nothing your friend's mother has tried has helped.

No, I dont think so at least...she's right in the middle of a neighborhood so I dont think there are many paower lines around. It has also happened everywhere she has tried to sleep in her house, though it's not happened at any other house she's slept at since it began.

First I would move out of the basement .Does this spirit leave marks, scratches on the other members of her family? this is a very serious matter. I don't know you are your friend, but this sounds very much like self-mutilation. Did your friend see a doctor when these words and scrathes were carved into her skin ? I'm sure there had to have been a lot of bleeding from being cut on. She may need a tetanus vacination.
Has your friend been evaluated by a doctor/Psycologist? There may be an underlying condition causing her episodes. Hope things get better for your friend ....FlwrChld68

I too feel that your friend should seek additional help from a doctor (if she has already gone then get another opinion). The fact that the scratches happen only when she is in a deep sleep tends to make me feel that she may be doing this to herself - acting out a nightmare or dream she is having. Like sleepwalkers - having had a few in our family, I can assure you, they have no recollection of where they went or what they did while on a sleep walk. We had to add an extra lock on the door that was higher up because one of our boys use to like to stroll outside during times he would sleepwalk. In the morning - he had no memory of it or of us leading him back to his bed, talking with us etc. As for the chocking feeling etc. she feels it may be from a thing called astral catalepsy (similar to what some people call sleep paralysis) which can be frightening.

The mind is a powerful thing and if she has deep fears that she lives with in the waking hours these fears will spill over into the night when the sub-conscious takes over in sleep. She needs to refuse to be manipulated by her own thoughts/fears and/or a dark entity should the home have one.

If there is a ghost lurking about causing some of the activity (like door knob or outside noises) so long as it feels a weakness in a person it can gain strength and only continue to pester.

Having strength will assist her with her dreams/nightmares as well. It may take some time but it will have benefit. I agree with Whilelmina in that I'm not sure that ghosts would/could cause that kind of physical harm, although I believe they can do things to bug or even scare us if they feel we are invading their space or they were a bad person when alive so they continue to be in death while trapped here.

Have your friend picture a white light surrounding her, the family, her home and the property the home is on, everyday (when she wakes and before she goes to sleep). Saying prayers and asking for guidance, protection etc. is also very important.

Thanks guys...I will talk to her soon and keep posted. While I don't think she is doing it herself I guess you never know, so I'll try to get some more info from her.
