Greetings!

You have all heard from me before, so now I want to ask one more thing...Am I ready for conjuring? I know mentally, spiriturally, and emotionally I am. I know that you all could not tell if I was ready on those ways. But I want to know if I am ready based on what I have done thus far.

I have always been interested in the paranormal and I have had experiences before but none in a long time. I also have caputured orbs and apparitions on film from my camera. So I know this can happen for me and my mind is open.

I have been doing my research on conjuring spirits and spirit communication. So from everything I have read, this is what I have collected & done to encourage it to happen.

1. I have the proper incense and candles. Lavender and sandalwood incense to conjure spirits and white and purple candles for protection.

2. I have been meditating everyday to get my mind open and calm. Practice helps.

3. I have memorized my protective prayers, cleansing prayers, and incognations for ghosts.

4. I have been taking relaxing walks in a cemetery that is less then a block from my place.

5. I even bought some turkey to feed my cats to make them calmer when I am trying to meditate and contact spirits. I was told not to put them in another room because they could help me realize something is there. But I also have a question on that...Do cats ALWAYS react to spirits? My cats are pretty laid back so I am not too sure they would react much, to be honest.

6. I made a Ouija board however I, of course, have been encouraged NOT to use it.

7. I made my own tarot cards.

So that is all the stuff I have done. So all that, combined with my open mind, is there a good chance I can do this? I guess doubting myself is not too attractive to spirits. So I need some feedback and encouragement. Any other tips are welcome!

I'm sorry - I can't provide any encouragement for you in this because I do not recommend it. It's dangerous. I know you've taken all kinds of steps to be able to do it - and do it safely, but it is best left to professionals... and professionals only do this when there is an absolute need for it, not just for entertainment value.

Sorry if I sound harsh, but I seriously do not recommend actively trying to conjure spirits. Take your walks through the cemetery, take photos, make recordings... investigate what's there, but don't challenge or invite spirits into your home. You could be setting yourself up for trouble if you do...

Well, it is certainly not just for fun. Like I have said before, I have always been interested in the paranormal and I want to expand my skills and contact.

There are a few people I have known personally that I would like to contact. It is certainly not Elvis or anything like that.

I have decided not to use the Ouija Board since I have heard more "NO, don't" answers then yes ones. So I hope this is the info you were looking for.

Well, I really wasn't looking for any info... I was just being honest in my thoughts on trying to conjure. It's your safety I had in mind; I'm not trying to spoil your attempt at expanding your skills.

I think it's been said before, if you want to make contact with a relative, you're better off to ask them to come to you in your dreams. The fact is, when you attempt to "conjure" a person you knew in life, you really do not know "who" is responding - it may well be a lower-level spirit coming through, indicating (lying) that they are who you're asking for. Think of it as a phone ringing in Grand Central Station. You put the call out and any passerby that hears the phone ring can pick that receiver up and say anything.

To be more safe & successful in making contact, perhaps you can learn to hone your psychic abilities and increase your intuition by reading books on it, meditation, etc. =)

Well, I have heard plenty about the whole dream thing. That seems to be everyone's quick fix. However, for me, it is not that easy.

I am on the medication Paxil and one side effect of it is that it can cause nightmares etc. I usually never react from a medication's side effects, but I am this time. I have been having more nightmares since starting the medication. After having a few, I looked up the side effects online and one site said that nightmares can be one.

So I really cannot trust my dreams. So that is why I do not feel comfortable trying the whole dream thing. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I agree with Kell 100% I have provided comments on your previous post so no need to repeat them.

Please just think this through a little longer and do more research (reputable material). I think once you do you may reconsider.

I have to agree with both Kell and Cat. Although it sounds like you've done the research necessary I still would not recommend doing this. But if you feel that you're ready and that this is something that you must do then by all means proceed.

But I definitely have to agree that inviting something into your home, no matter how ready you are, can be a dangerous thing. You do never know what or who for that matter is really coming through. I had an incidence with the Ouija board where whomever it was coming through said that they were my brother who had passed. We were led on for quite some time....only realizing toward the end of the session that it really was not my brother. So I can tell you first hand that spirits can be deceitful. As I have said before though, you have done the research...it seems as if you have some good info so I really don't see that you need anymore advice at this point. It's either contact or don't. You need to do what you feel comfortable with. =)

It seems that there are tons of people on various message boards that contact spirits and are into all that. So I was wondering what makes me so different that I cannot expand my skills as well and be able to take part in it. I understand everyone's concern for me, so I am not upset about that. I am just wondering what it does take (since you feel I am not ready) for me to be ready. Why is it okay for others but not for me?

I cannot help that I am interested in the paranormal. I have read countless books on the subject, done investigations, picture taking, traveled to haunted locations etc. I suppose I am just ready for the next step. Typing all this out has actually made me realize that!! Wow! See what happens? You vent, and you figure things out. :-) I have been interested in it my whole life (I'm 26 now) and I have done everything else in this arena, so I know now that is why I want to move on even further. I guess the locations, investigations, and books are not enough anymore. So now what do I do?

Ghostlover, I don't think there's anything about you that makes people think that you can't expand on your skills. You have asked if you are ready for conjuring, and while your list of steps to ready yourself is admirable the truth is you are the only one that can know. The people that have responded here can't suggest further steps because it is something that they believe is unsafe and choose not to practice themselves, they can only tell your their own experiences and oppinions. It's like asking someone who has no desire to parachute from a plane for instructions on how to do it. I personally have no desire to contact unknown spirits so the only advice I could give is to apprentice yourself to someone who has experience in such things. I have know idea where you could find such a person but maybe you can contact some of the local psychics in you area and see how you feel about them. I hope that you find what you are looking for.

It is not a matter of "it's OK for others but not for you" - it is a matter of personal safety and the recognition that when you are dealing with spirits you are dealing with an unknown and anything can happen even when you have done "everything right".

With all due respect, your desire to do this seems to be almost obsessive and that is not a good way to go into this realm ~ it puts out the "Welcome Mat" to anything to come in ~ not just the spirits you are trying to reach.

You need to be detached and be willing to accept that you may or may not connect with anyone.

The fact of the matter is, just because YOU want to connect with certain people who have crossed, it doesn't mean that they are seeking that connection. If they have a message for you then perhaps you will reach them -- if you are chasing them for "answers" it is more than likely that you will be very disappointed because they are not there to give you the quick answers to life (or anything else for that matter!)

If you were really sure that "you are ready & completely prepared" I doubt you would be here trying to get outside confirmation that "you are ready".

For the record ~ spirit connection is not "crystal clear" and everyone experiences in different ways. You may not "see" the spirit, you may only "hear" it or vice versa. Or you may get impressions or images as the method of communication, or you may even experience it physically - various parts of your body &/or emotions. You may have to interpret a great deal and some may not even make any sense to you at all.

Yes everyone has psychic ability -- some people are just very gifted. This is no different from anything in life - sports, music, arts, sciences, etc. Not everyone has the same level of ability in all things. You need to realize this as well.

Whether anyone here thinks you are ready or not has very little bearing on your decision to move forward. It is YOUR decision ~ YOUR responsibility and ultimately YOUR safety. You will do what you want ~ and you need to be willing to own that responsibility as well.

Do what you think is best for you ~ because in the big scheme of things the only person this is going to affect 100% is you.

I can understand from the outside point of view how it may seem "obsessive". However, I do not try to conjure everyday, nor do I take walks in the cemetery everyday, nor do I think about this all the time.

All I have done, as I listed in my very first post in this thread, is done some research and prepared myself. I hardly see that as obsessive. It is better then taking out a Ouija Board and going crazy with it. I am taking it seriously and I am not going into it lightly.

I am not looking for any particular answers, nor am I looking for "something" to tell me my future.

By coming to these boards, I was only asking if there was anything else I need to do to make my safety net a bit stronger. I know that nothing is 100% fact or guarenteed in this situation. I was not expecting that. I was asking just so I could see if there were any others out there that are into this and if I was on the correct path to doing it.

Well, everyone...It has been months since I was here discussing this issue. I am now back.

First of all, my conditions have changed for contacting spirits. I am in a new apartment. Since living here, I have heard children running on the roof around dawn even though there are no children to be running up there. LOL That has happened once.

I do not believe my apartment to be haunted though since nothing else has really happend. But I must tell you all that I have successfully captured a class B EVP recording. It is on a cassette tape. I do not have the equipment to put in on my computer right now, but when I do, I will be sure to post it. It was definately a male spirit because of the tone of the voice. And to my surprise, it said my NAME! I certainly did not expect to hear THAT! I do not have anyone who has passed that is male that would be trying to contact me, so I have no idea who it was. Bottom line, it was exciting to know that it is possible for me to do this. This was recorded at the old place I was living. I have yet to try it here in my new apartment.

I have NOT used a Ouija board. But I did recently purchase a pendulum for dowsing. I have not tried it out yet, however.

I even experienced some paranormal activity when I was at the Queen Mary for the Halloween event. I stayed the night there and during the night, things in my room were moved. I also caputred orb pictures, etc.

Thank you all for your posts on this topic. As I said, I knew I was ready and I tried what I felt comfortable with. And it was a success. I feel safe, nothing bad has happened, and I am very pleased with the results.

Personally I think the dead will come to you if they need to. I know thats not the correct terms. Way too much can come in when you open that door.

It's great that you are expanding you're psychic abilities. That's always a good thing.

Allow me to request that you expand the basic forms before you endeavor to "conjuring".

It's always good advice to be well ground through longer term meditation, well balanced life and a well developed intiution.
There are several reasons why I say this.
One of which is that you are on Paxil. I am not in any way putting you down because you are on an anti-depressant. Personally I think it is vastly over-prescribed. But there is a reason you and your doctor feel you need to be on Paxil. These reasons don't apply well to advanced forms of psychic activities. The drug may make you feel better as a mood altering drug but your energy/life force call it what you will is still unbalanced as evidenced by the need for an anti-depressant.
The second reason, though while I do sense that you are ready to attempt many psychic activities, I also sense that you are rushing into it a bit. As you're not being completely ready. It's doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't but it means that I'm concerned for your welfare.

As said over and over again in this post. It is dangerous. I've met some nasty spirits. Some that refuse to leave you after they've come into contact. And of course I've met some really nice spirits.
But do understand, as already said, the nice ones come calling, the bad ones just need the invite. When you "conjure" you're just sending out a all point bulliten to anyone who's listening. And the vast majority of spirits lingering (not moving on) are doing so because they have issues and problems. It can be like calling for someone to talk to in demilitarized zone. The odds of getting someone nice can be very bad. And it just takes one with more energy than any others to muscle their way past the nice ones.

I wish you the best in your developement. I hope it all going swimmingly well. But just like everyone else here, I would asking you to please, please, excersize the greatest caution and to prepare yourself (candles, prayers, etc. are all very good but you need to well balance yourself) as best as you can.

Maybe someday you'll be contacting me. =) Of course I don't see me dying anytime soon. So if someone says their me.......

This is my first post after the intro(so please forgive me, if I am making mistakes here). I wanted to add that my spiritual beliefs include Christianity, Wicca, The Craft, Native American Medicine Ways, Shamanism etc, etc., and If I wanted to make contact with a relative (ancestor) who has passed through the veil, I would pull out a picture of them, any belongings I might have of thiers, memorablilia, etc light a white candle and specifically invite who it is I wish to contact, giving them the freedom to do so IF they Choose to. I usually have a small plate with food and a glass with something like milk and honey that I offer them. Then I just look at the picture and think of them. There is no "Calling of Spirits" involved, you state that you are only inviting that paticular persons spirit to communicate with you. Then you get still and listen (with your mind). I have not found this to be dangrous or much different than visiting a cemetary and talking to an ancestor except that you are showing proper respect. This is just how I do it and I am open to any suggestions or comments. Thanks!!!
