Well, we saw the new Harry Potter flick tonight. Did I like it? Was it any good? Honestly, I don't know. No kidding. It was very choppy and somewhat jumbled and moved so quickly that I really need to see it again to know for sure. Even though the seasons changed from fall to winter to spring, it still seemed as if all the events happened over a span of only a few weeks as opposed to an entire school year. Some of my favorite characters got little or no screen time and even less lines. The movie was very "bare bones" and "stripped for action". I couldn't believe it when my son told me that we had been in the theater for 2 hours! It rather reminded me of a roller coaster: the pace keeps building and building and building and moving faster and faster and about the time you start really getting into it, it's over and you are like "Wait a minute! I wasn't through yet!"

I've heard the same thing about it, that it builds and builds and you know there's a big climax coming, but suddenly it just... stops. I haven't seen it yet, that's just what I've heard. I still want to see it since I'm a big Harry Potter fan, but I think I may wait until it comes to the little cinema where it's cheaper. [Wink]

I just seen it. I thought it was great. towards the end it explaned a lot. I was sad for a while tell about a half hour or so towards the end of the movie. I like the one two punch from Hermatie to Malvoid. ( Names are misspelled, I know). That was great. Can't wait till it comes out on DVD. To see the deleted scenes. As for Dobbledoor. I do miss the oringal one ( bless his soul, he is in a better place now). But all in all I think it was a very good movie and funny too.

We went to see it today and I thought it was great. If you haven't read the books it was at times a bit hard to follow, and this is the book in the series that I would call the turning point. In the first 2 we knew that Voldemort was after Harry but we didn't know exactly why, this is where we start to put the pieces together. Hermoine punching Malfoy was funny as can be, my daughter laughed out loud on that one. I give it a thumbs up [Big Grin]

I just went to see it for the second time today and I loved it! This is the best movie of all three, and it was very different from the others. I'm a huge fan of the books and I've read all 5 more times than I can count, I know I'm totally obsessed but I can't help it. I thought this movie stayed very loyal to the books without being so choppy like the other movies. Yes their are some minor differences from the book and it was overall condenced but those things were very necessary, the only way to get the whole thing on film would be to do a mini series. The new Dumbledore I can take or leave, in truth his role was much reduced with Sirius and Lupin having the conversations with Harry that was actually Dumbledore in the book- I'm fine with that. I liked Sirius very much. I had to get used to Lupin (who is one of my very favorite characters in the books) because he didn't look as I imagined him, but that was a small thing and I liked him even better the second time around. Poor Professor Lupin, such a gentle soul. I'm so glad that we were able to see more of Professor Snape this time, I adore Alan Rickman, and I was glad to see that he had a little scene of bravery. Poor Snape is such an unlikable, nasty man that I have to say I've always felt a little sorry for him.

Now on to Harry, Ron, and Hermione. These kids have improved immensely in acting ability! So far I see no signs that they are getting too old, though some of the others changed drastically from CoS to PoA but since that only happens once (thank god!) we won't have to worry about them not being in the next one. It was a bit of a shock to see Neville so tall and thin, and to see the Weasley twins looking like football players and sounding completely different, Sheesh! young boys change so much. I thought the Ron/Hermione tension progressed very nicely in this movie. Shhhh, I'm a closet shipper.

I really liked this movie. Now if we can only have the sixth book!!!!!!!
