I rarely have dreams worth remembering, but this one, that I had the other night, is worthy of mention. Look out, because my "worth remembering" dreams can get pretty weird.
It starts out, that I'm in a restaurant with a group of people. I don't recall who offhand, maybe co-workers, maybe friends, but the restaurant is in this really old, dilapidated house, and the thought of it being haunted crosses my mind. (this is probably because I enjoy going to haunted restaurants and have been planning to take my sister to the Country Tavern).
Anyway, back to the dream. I'm sitting at the table, and when I let go, the chair, with me in it, rolls to the corner of the room, because the floor isn't level. Oh yeah, the chair was an office chair with wheels. When I'm in the corner of the room, I look out the window, and notice it's getting stormy outside. The clouds are dark, the wind is picking up, and it starts to rain and lightning. Although the lightning is hitting everything around the house, including the house itself, I don't hear any thunder. The wind picks up even stronger and the walls of the house are creaking, and it starts to hail outside. Basically my dream "storm machine" just pulled out all the stops, with wind, rain, hail, lightning. I had the sensation of the house moving off the foundation from the wind and flooding, then I woke up shortly afterward.
Just some other random thoughts... when I moved to one side of the house, there was a garage door there, even though there was just one big room in the house. Looking out the windows of the garage door, I could see another run-down house being hammered with rain and lightning.
I don't remember any tornadoes though, and I often dream of them when I have "storm dreams".
Any thoughts? I wonder if the storm was related to stresses I've been having this week, in particular supporting my wife through the death of her uncle. I rarely have "storm dreams" but they are often my favorite and most memorable dreams. And sometimes the most bizarre!
