I have a question about a ghost in my girlfriend’s apartment that for some reason is friendly to everyone but me.

My girlfriend and her roommate are convinced there is a “friendly ghost" (they call him "Casper") that lives in their bathroom because late at night (usually @4-4:30am) they often hear strange noises originating from the bathtub, and when they wake up in the morning, objects are sometimes rearranged (shower head, shower curtain, soap, etc.). My girlfriend’s roommate thinks Casper is a child that drowned in that bathtub because when she first came to look at the apartment, it wasn't redone yet, and everything was moved out except for a child's ball left in the middle of the living room (creepy, huh?).

I do not stay over her apartment much (not because of the ghost), but in the past when I have stayed there I usually stay up much later than my g/f and roommate, and I have heard strange noises coming from the bathroom late at night that have freaked me out. I have also seen objects rearranged that didn’t make much sense.

Anyway, I didn't think much about Casper until this past weekend.

On Thursday night, I rode my mountain bike from my apartment to my girlfriend’s apartment. Everything was fine with the ride to her apartment. Since I didn’t have a lock, I brought the bike into her apartment. I put the bike right next to her roommate’s PC which I worked on late into the night. The bike was in my view the entire time and nothing was wrong with it.

Eventually, @ 2:30 or so I went to bed.

Around 4:30am, my girlfriend and I were jolted from our sleep when we heard an extremely loud “gong” noise (that’s the only way I can describe it... it sounded like the gong on the “Gong Show”). The door and windows in the room were closed. The noise definitely did not come from outside the apartment; it sounded like it came from my g/f's room. I went outside her room to check the rest of the apartment, but everything seemed fine. We were both freaked out because it was as if someone literally had a gong in front of the bed and “gonged” it while we were sleeping. Needless to say, we both had trouble getting back to sleep. (My g/f's roommate was away in New Orleans at the time, so it was only the two of us in the apartment.)

The next morning I woke up and went to leave with my mountain bike. As I walked the bike to the door, I noticed the front tire was completely flat. Upon further inspection, I discovered a 3"+ slash from the middle of the tire down towards the edge. The slash went right through the inner tube as well!

There is no way I could have ridden the bike that night if there was a slash that large in the front tire. There is also no way a piece of glass could have caused that much damage. I never thought I’d ever say this, but I 95% believe that this “ghost” slashed my tires and is trying to get my attention.

I know this all sounds crazy, but there aren't any logical explanations for the events that happened that night.

Do you think it’s possible that Casper does not like me and is trying to make a point? Anyone have any thoughts on this at all?

Koo-Koo,
Sean

It's sad to think that a child is still there bound to the location for some reason. I like to think all children make a safe crossing but sadly I know that is not always the case.

How long has your g/f lived at this apartment? Have any of you gone into the bathroom when you hear the noises?

Outside of the bike and gong incident it sounds like all activity has been in the bathroom area until now. Not sure what this cld be but I will take a run at it with a couple thoughts: either he/she doesn't like you being there because they feel you are invading their space or they don't want you to leave because they are trying to tell you something? Also, if there is a ghost child there maybe the child feels protective to your g/f and her room mate and since you are not there often you are viewed as an intruder of sorts?

Have you tried taking pictures in the bathroom to see if you can capture anything?

Not every sign has to be a negative one...we just perceive them that way at times. There's always the possiblity you were protected from taking your bike that day to keep you from having an accident that Casper knew would happen if you went out riding that day!

I know I've had a few ghostie roommates myself so just keep your eyes and mind open....and be sure to give us all the details =) Thanks for sharing!

I'd see if you can get some history of the place, find out what may have happened in the past. That might explain some of the occurrences. The gong sounds intriguing... I wonder if there are any cult rituals involving gongs that might have taken places in the apartment in the past. If there were, maybe they have something to do with the ghost, child or not.

Child ghosts tend to do child things... play with toys, tug on the back of your shirt, things like that. They tend to be friendly just like living children. It seems odd to me that a child ghost would slash your tire, but then who knows. There could be more than one ghost there, or it isn't a child.

I second Cat's suggestion to take some pictures. Maybe set up a recorder to capture EVP. You might get something, especially if you do it around 4-4:30 AM.

Have you ever felt anything strange in the apartment? Chills, cold spots, feeling disoriented, or hair standing on end? Those are common indicators of paranormal activity nearby... keep your eyes and mind open and you'll likely pick up on something.

Hi Sean!

I can definitely see your conecern, but I have to agree with Cindy. Not every sign is negative. I was actually thinking (as Cat mentioned) that maybe "Casper" just didn't want you to leave. I would think that if the ghost wanted you to leave, he/she wouldn't have slashed your tires. (As that would keep you there)

I would suggest trying to find out exactly what happened in the apartment, as well as taking pictures in the bathroom.

Let us know if you find anything.

Hi sean. I also agree with the others in that my feeling in this spirit wanted you to stay for some reason. Being that you are a male and your girlfreind and her room mate are female, maybe the spirit feels that your presense is comforting, safe.Just my take on things but its the impression I got while reading your story. I would try and find out what happened in this apartment, the history. And try and get EVP as well as photos and video. Talk to the spirit, tell it you mean it no harm and would like to help if you can. Let us know if any thing furthur develops.
