hello people,
last night i had a very peculiar experience, and well i've been going on about it since it's all i can think about, After the one hundreth person laughed in my face, i decided to research anything i could find similar to what i had seen, and well i found a post on this site that was close enough for me to join, and tell my own story, i really just want some peace of mind...

so here goes:

i had just spent a great evening at our local rock quarry sitting around a fire with a my good friend natasha, and just killing time on a a monday night. we decided we'd go home around 10 pm or so, and after walking through the endless fields back into the civilized world we started to cut through the junior high school.
There is a long bus lane that goes from one road across the school's property and to another road at the other side of the block, and we were walking down it, Natasha grabbed my arm pretty tight, and i figured it was normal behaviour becasue she does it all the time, maybe a few seconds later i looked towards the school building , there was a hill blocking out my view of ...oh say the first 10 feet of the buiulding from the ground up, but above it there seemed to be.. smoke? it looked smokey to me.. or maybe mistlike, eitherway, i asked tasha immediatly to look at it, becasue it was a very clear night, and it looked pretty neat.. within seconds i relaised it wasn't just "smoke" but it was.. a very large head/face, at first i thought it was a coincidence, and that nature can make shapes out of anything, but it was very clear at the same time as smokey.. it wasn't facing us, it was facing to me right, and it was talking, it looked angry, but we heard no sound. at this point i became a little frightened but my curiosity could not be killed, and i walked a few steps closer, it looked as though it was.. yelling at someone or something, but i coudln't se anything underneath of it for the hill was blocking my view. we got about 10 feet closer(we were at the other end of a soccer field) and at that moment it tunred and we saw it face us for a few seconds before it vanished.
To be honest, i thought it was "God" at first... but after thinking about it for the past while, it doesn't seem possible.. the things it did, they way it looked angry and it was dark and smoky, it didn't seem heavenly at all. i would really love to know what it was.. or any ideas, i just want to relax.

wish you had a camera with you... wow. Wonder if it is a recurring event? Maybe sometime you could take the same shortcut again and bring a camera with you. Did Natasha see the same thing as you? or interperate it the same as you? Dow you know anything of the history of the land the soccer field is on or the hill that was blocking your view? Very possible you saw a spirit entity.

I've taken this shortcut many times as it is my regular route back home from the swimming quarry, never that late however. The camera idea is a good one.. do you know if i need to use digital or if regular film works?

yes Natasha saw the exact same thing as me, which is why i did not dismiss it as "seeing things"

um, well the history of the place is pretty bland.. it was a forest, when i attended junior high about 7 years ago, most of the surrounding were still forest, nowadays most of this forest has been torn down, nearly all of it, it's now a very suburban neighbourhood, also our new highschool was built not far from the area.

i'm not sure if it would be anything significant, but, there was a hospital about two blocks away, surrounded by forests it was around a very very long time, my mother was born there and that wa sin 1961, it was recently town down..well actually around last summer, i don't go near the old site, becasue i get bad vibes, but i thought i'd mention it anyways.

er, the hospital was Torn down.. not town down.

any camera will do provided you have an adequate flash ... digital is preferred but film cameras can pic up such things as well. If using a film camera try to get 400 or if available 800 ISO film as it works well at night.

ok, i gotta confess though, i'm scared pretty stiff of gonig back there at night and maybve seeing it again. but if Natasha will come it won't be that bad.. and what are the chances of that happening again? i hope.

Alan has a good idea with taking a camera. If it is an imprint or residual of some sort then there is a chance it may happen again while you are there. If not an imprint and some spirit/entity was popping in then it will be one of those right time right place things. You may have to go several times. Good luck if you do decide to take the walk back. You should go to the local library or archives building and research the history of the land. You have mentioned some recent history however try going back further even a century back as it may provide more clues. Never know what may have been there long before it was populated as it is today.

I can understand why you are uneasy about making the return trip so having friend in tow will be a help. Not just for the support but the confirmation - I know I always much prefer it when someone else also sees something that I have when it's the strange or paranormal invovled. That way your not second guessing yourself and the other person may see something slightly different or additional that may be helpful. Keep us posted.

you guys are great! thanks for all the advice, i don't know i fi mentioned much description of the ..face, it was very large, probbaly the size of, a billboard, it was bearded and had very angry looking eyes.. it was.. gee i dunno invisble.. translucent like, so far my only other experices are with "poltergeists" definatly a shock, but i willdefinatly make an effort to go back with a camera, i would really like other peopel tosee what i saw, my only question left, is... could it have been talking/yelling at something besides me and natasha, becasue it dissapeared ocne it turne din our direction.. also, when peopel see these "entities" is it for a reason, or so they roam freely?
