Ok, so the other day, I got real bad sunburn, so I didnt feel like moving much. I went to sleep on the couch downstairs, since I didnt feel like moving. Now, I've always know that there is/are a ghost(s)/spirit(s) in my house, but I've never actually seen them, only felt they're presence. But, in the middle of the night (around 4ish), I was woken up for no reason, and I flet a presence. I looked straight ahead, and in the hallway in front of me, roughly 10-15 feet away were two red eyes staring at me. I was really freaked out, but I couldn't move. They stayed where they were for about 5 minutes, then started coming towards me, but disappeared when they came within 5 feet of me. Does this have some meaning? It really creeped me out, and I have refused to go back down there when it was dark ever since, even though the presence never bothered me before. his happened 3 nights ago. Any suggestions?

I know when you get a bad sunburn you can also get a bit of heat stroke and like a high fever it can cause you to see things. Our eyes can get a form of sunburn as well. I'm not saying that you didn't see these eyes just maybe they were not red it was just your eyes seeing them that way. Were you fully awake at the time? If in a lucid state you could have caught a glimpse of whatever presence you felt was there and has been there in your home. I believe the lucid state can allow us to see and experience more things than what we may normaly while fully awake. Just some thoughts.

Has the feeling of a presence always been in the basement?

Its not really a basement, just a ground level- and yes, I have always felt it there, though sometimes I also feel a presence in my back yard.

Oh my goodness ! I would be out of my mind if that happened to me! You are a very Brave Person I think I would have put the blankets over my head and would still be there . That sounds like a scene right out of the amityville horror. Lots of white light and prayers sent your way =) . Barb

Hmm... that's very freaky. Are you sure they were eyes? Could you see the whites, the lashes, the iris, etc.? Or was it mainly two glowing red dots? I agree with Barb, you are very brave to lay there and watch them for 5 minutes! I believe in this situation I would try sleeping down there again (with company this time ) and set up a video camera. Maybe even run the camera when you aren't home and see if you can pick up anything. And since you are a spiritseeker in training it should be good practice for you. Good luck!

Wow, that's freaky. Did the eyes appear to be animal like, or human like? Were they low to the ground (animal), or 5-6 feet up (human)? Could you make out any details in the eyes, or were they just two dots? How red were they? Do you have any cats? Cats' eyes are very reflective and can appear to glow under the right conditions in low light. They usually aren't red though.

Since you have always felt the presence in the basement area or backyard I would go with Karen's idea of setting up the video camera in both locations. Staying down there with someone again would also be good, although you would have to pull some all nighters likely. Even if you don't experience the same thing should you sense the presence again you can see if you get the same uneasy feeling or not. That may help determine if this experience is linked to the same presence you have felt.

I have seen red orbs before, very small ones intense in color, although they were not moving in unison or side by side just darting about as white orbs do.

Whoa! Very brave indeed! I don't think I could have laid there for that long and watched them watching me.

I can really only echo what everyone else has suggested. I think using a video camera is an excellent idea, both while you are home and even when you're not there. You never know what may be going on while your out.

Do you by chance know anything of the history of your home? That could give you some insight into who you're sharing your residence with.

Thank you are for your suggestions. I do not feel brave, as I would have ran, but I was petrified. I will try the video camera idea, and I will research the history of my house and the land it is on. To answer some of your questions, The eyes were about 6 feet above the ground, so they appeard to be human-like. There was not much detail, but black dots that looked as if they could be pupils were there. Also, thank you Barb for your prayers.

I actually have seen red and green eyes. I would always wake up around the same time and see them either by the door or right in front of my face.

I haven't see red or green eyes, but I have seen lots of other weird things! I first gotinto this type of thing when I was early 20's discovering I had a real knack for the "supernatural". I've seen a man on a book cover move his hands in conversation while sitting on the shelf ina closet, I've seen tall cactus moving towards me and recently since I am now living in the very house where a drug deal went bad and the owner died inside, I've seen shadows in the reflection of the front glass, I've seen several silver "orbs" in that same front window, I have heard strange sounds that I initially tossed out as "new house jitters", I've felt what I thought was one of my cats getting on the bed only to discover they are in the window next to me, I've seen a shodow moving in my dark room just after I turn the lights out( and maybe it's just an optical illusion but it happenes with enough regularity that I am begining to suspect something different. My cats are always staring at something I can't see and they dart out of the room from sounds that I can't hear ( I figure it's a "sound" since their little radar dish-like ears are rotating back and forth)
