I work in a 100 yr. old very haunted Psychiatric Facility here in the Midwest.
Due to a reversal in fortune (so to speak), I have had to move into a cramped 3 room apartment in the Employees' Lodging Bldg., on the Psychiatric Facility's Campus.
My next door neighbor was a young female employee, who works for another employer on our Campus. On occassion when she was on vacation, I would notice that her apartment door was unlocked and left open 3-4 inches. I thought how scattered brained she must be to leave her door open when she would be gone for a few days. Some times she would leave the door closed when she left. But then I would find it opened, and ajar at a later time; and it would remain that way till she returned.
A couple of days ago she moved out of the apartment, and the door was closed.
When I returned from doing some errands the door was ajar again. I walked into the apartment to see who was there, but no one was.
I got to thinking about it today, and was wondering if this was the work of a Ghost?
Previous Tenants in the Bldg. had voiced opions to that line of thinking; that the bldg. was haunted.
I was considering moving into her apartment, as it is slightly larger than mine. But wonder if there is a security problem there, if a Ghost is always opening the door in the Tenant's absence.
I thought about asking the girl, but she has never been open to any type of discussion with me.
She seems very gaurded whenever I did talk to her. And she never initiated any conversions with me. It's not her way I'm sure, because all the employees who work in the same bldg. as she does, all behave antisocially. They are polite, but they don't want to talk to you.

I've worked with that type of person before. That is pretty interesting Dave. BTW, I sure have missed your stories!

I might try starting a conversation with her such as, "Did you ever have any problems with the door to your apartment? I couldn't help but notice that it had been left open occasionally when you weren't there." It could be as mundane as a faulty lock, or someone doing maintanence work, and you can always use the excuse of you were thinking about changing apartments.

If she seems more receptive to a conversation, you can always lead in by asking her if she ever experienced anything odd in that apartment.

Have you had any thing weird happen in your apartment? Just from what I've heard from others, when an apartment project is haunted, activity is rarely limited to just one, it is usually several places involved.

I haven't experienced anything in the 4 months that I have lived here.
When I first moved in, I stopped by her apartment and introduced my self. Revealing to her that several staff people had experienced Paranormal Events in the wing of the bldg, she works in. She admitted that Paranormal Occurences was a hot topic of discussion with her coworkers on the PM Shift.
I had hoped that from our initial conversation, that we might have more conversions of the same in the future. But after that, she clammed up, and it's like pulling teeth to get her to talk.
She works with sexual offenders. So I can understand her need not to reveal anything about her personal life at work. But seemingly this gaurdedness carries over into her private life as well. The same is true of her coworkers that live in this bldg. too. They are all very stoned face, and emotionless. They should all apply for jobs with the FBI!
I on the other had I am encouraged to talk with the Psychiatric Pts. in my charge. It has made me a more out going person, from wence I was a severe introvert upon the start of my career.
The opposite seems to be true with the other Security Speacialists, like this girl.
