I just wondering if someone could give me some advice. Ok, when i was little like most children i saw spirits. As i got older i no longer saw them. But in the past 2 years it has come back. At first i thought i was crazy, but then i actully started seeing them, and then as time went on, hearing them. I can now have them speak to me and its like having a "normal" conversation. I have spoken with someone that is very strong in this feild (hes in the army hard to reach him) and he told me i wasn cazy that i had a gift? I see them where ever i go usally, day or night. Is this normal? Thanks for any advice/ help.

I'd say it is a gift. I was 7 years old, the first time I saw a spirit. It was my grandmother's and I only saw her briefly. I don't see them all the time or everywhere I go. I have seen them off and on since then, though. I seem to have "visitations" more in dreams, than in front of my face. I can tell the difference however, from a dream and a visitation. Usually, a few days after a "visitation," something happens which verifies it, and it makes sense. During a "visitation," I've had quite lengthy conversations and remember everything about it. When it's just a dream, it's almost always hazy the next morning, and I only remember bits and pieces and it's usually totally illogical. As far as anything being "normal"... I'm probably not the one to ask on that.

I would definitely say it is a gift.

Here are some questions:

Do you like being able to see them and talk to them? or does it freak you out? Can you make them go away? How can you tell that they aren't real people?

Sorry I can't really give you advice about it.. I'm sure that someone on the board can!! I'm just curious about it all because I've never seen anything! I think it's fascinating!

I have to agree with Savannah and Candi that it is a gift. For those with this gift it is perfectly normal. Do you want to shut it off or do something further with it? Do the ppl that speak to you want you to give a message to someone?

Finding another person where you are that has this ability and has learned to control it would be beneficial. Provided they are willing to mentor they could provide you with the guidance you need. It's to bad the fellow you know is not readily available to to talk with.

I've mentioned on another thread of a fellow my sister knows who has this gift. He was freaked by it for a long time, but has since learned (with the help of a mentor) to use it to help others. Not all the messages he recieves are clear so has had to learn to interpret the meaning or the symbols he is shown. =)

Well, I have to agree with everyone else. I definitely think that it's a gift! And I think it's a very normal thing. Not everyone can see or communicate with spirits, but that's what makes it a gift.

Cat has put it perfectly. Finding someone that could help to guide you would definitely be a start. Although that can prove to be easier said then done. Does your friend who is in the army perhaps know of anyone else that you can contact? That may be one place to start.

Sorry that I don't have much more in the way of advice...I myself do not have this gift so I don't have any experience with it.

I'm of the camp that believe that everyone can do it. Just most people don't.
You can call it a gift if you can do it without trying.
It's something you have to balance. What you hear and what you see can cause problems in your life or it can help. It's all a learning experience.

There are so many aspects as in any part of life just asking for advice is quite a bit broad and generic. Is there something more specific you would like advice about?

I too , Believe it's a gift. But I also believe everyone has the capability to communicate if they so chose . I seen and talked to my paternal grandmother after her death when I was a child. When that stopped I never had any other experiences until about 3-4 yrs ago. I dont have the gift in the same manner as you do . I do believe anyone that thrives to plunge in to anything paranormal has a gift.

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the advice on seeking a mentor. The friend i have in the army has just been sent to Iraq this week, so i have to wait for him to contact me to ask if he knows anyone. Candi to answer your questions; At first it freaked me out when I saw them, but now I am ok with seeing them. If i ask them to please leave me alone most of the time they do. And to answer your third question, I hope they arent real people!-lol i would be calling the cops for breaking and entering on my house!-lol-jk The spirits i see like at other places out side my home, well they are a bit transparent. Not totally solid but not tottaly see through. To make sure i wasnt seeing things i have asked my friends(when i encounter or see a spirit) if they see someone there. They always say no, but my one friend said see feels something sometimes even before i say anything to her. To answer Cat's question; I dont want to really shut this off becuase the more acustom I am to it, I feel that there is a reason maybe i have this "gift" so to say. The first time it happened there was a girl in my kitchen soaked to the bone head to toe. I asked her what the heck she was doing in my house ( tought she was human) And she just started crying. I turned around to grab the phone and she was gone. Needless to say I still called the cops. ( I had a mental ward about 15 miles from my house- maybe she escaped?!) No doors or anything had been tampered with though. The next morning the girls at worked told me a girl had drowned right by my house last night. I never told them what happened. But maybe she wanted to tell me something?! The speific thing i wanted to ask o advice that Nakis asked me was what everyone has already answered, Weather this might be a gift or if anyne had any simliar happened to them. Sorry this post is so long. Just wanted to answer eveyones questions. Thanks again everyone. Means alot to me:)

I think that it\'s a gift. I started doing the same thing when I was 11 and its happened ever since. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you're crazy.

Just out of curiousity, have you suffered a traumatic event or illness during this time period? I have heard of people developing abilities like this after undergoing some sort of life changing event.

Thanks Trin:) No, i never had a traumatic event but when i was little like i almost dies from somtype a virusor something. i was to young to remembe, but my parents told me i was about 4 or years old. i was in the hospial for about 3 months plus. Thats all i know, but u might be on to something... =) ((hugs)) -Alicia

I too almost died, from pneumonia, when i was 18 months old. spent a month in hopsital. Maybe there is something to it.
