I recall a movie that was released back in the 70's about some serial killer from I think the 1940's who was never captured and I think the location was in Arkansas. Does anyone know which movie I'm referring to and the exact location and time period.

After a brisk search the following movie popped up;

The Town That Dreaded Sundown

[part of info] real-life setting of Texarkana, Arkansas. Anyone looking for a high-quality, gripping, intense and suspenseful story, need look no further. It's made all the more horrific because it is based on real-life, unsolved serial killings in 1946 Texarkana

Is that the right one ?, I'm English and not really knowlegeful on American places.

Yes, that's the one; thanks.

At first I thought of the Zodiac Killer, but that was in San Francisco.

"And some think he still walks the streets of Texarkana today". That I remember from the radio promo; could that still be true even now?

I came upon a pretty good link from Crime Library.

That is a pretty interesting, and scary story. I was reading this thread to James, because his family at that time, lived in Texarkana. He told me that when he was a kid and about the time this movie came out, that his mother told him of one of her uncle;s who was a law enforcement officer at the time of the murders. I'll have to see if I can possibly get my hands on a copy of the movie.
