I lived in Orange,CA. when Richard Ramirez was running wild and killing people. He would sneak into houses and kill people. I worked for UCI Medical Center in Orange, CA, the psychiatrist I worked with was called upon to do the psych assessment for Ramirez. I talked to his attorney's at least 2 times a week. At the time he was in San Francisco on trial for murders he committed in the Bay Area. Our doctor did do the assessment, and stated the guy was pretty scarey as he had or showed no remorse at all. I think the police should have let the good citizens of Orange County save the taxpayers money. He was captured when someone recognized him and the people started beating the heck out of him. He was glad when the police showed up and took him away.

No the doctor I worked with really did not want to do the assessment. His career could have been adversely affected, if his name was tied to Ramirez. He felt that no matter what his assessment showed some attorney would turn it around to suit their purpose. I don't think I would ever want to get close to him. I know you must remember Manson, looking at him gave me a healthy respect for very sick people and what they can do.

You couldnt have said it better! I am glad you didnt have to get close to Ramirez either. I feel sorry that the doctor had too! Sadly thought this world is filled with people like that. When i lived in south carolinia there was a man that killed his wife, kids and his parents and inlaws! He said a demon hold him too! I dont know, people are sick. but anyway... Thanks for the story again:)

Sad the such evil walks among us. I can see how such a negative energy could have an impact on you even if just looking into his eyes for a moment. Glad to hear you didn't have to do that. I imagine it was interesting case to work on but very upsetting and unnerving at the same time. I imagine the doctor must have had a few unsettling sleeps after this one.

I agree when it comes to Ramirez the taxpayers dollar should have been saved.

I don't buy the demon made me do it defense that these guys sometimes use. The only demon is the person themself. Yes there are sick minds that have for whatever reason lost touch with reality and may very well not be of sane mind when committing an act however you certainly can't put all in that basket. How sad this man killed his family and then blamed an unseen force. He is a sick and likely calculating mind plan and simple.

It was a horriable story! I could not believe it had happened only minutes away from my home. You never know what people will do, or who they really are. Btw the man that did that also killed himself right before the cops showed up. It makes me feel that he knew very well what he was doing by killing himelf. showing he knows what he did and what he would have to face( jail, ect). Sick, sick people...
