The quote below was a response I made to Carrie's post "I Saw A Shadow Ghost", in January. I had come to the conclusion that what she was seeing was an "imprint," as Kev had suggested it might be. However, she contacted me yesterday, and was a little freaked out. She told me that a couple of days ago, her daughter (who is 9,) and a friend were swimming and the friend came to use the bathroom and went back outside. A few minutes later, my friend went into the bathroom and there appeared to be blood in the toilet. She said she flushed it and the water came back with the same appearance of blood in it. She immediately went outside and questioned the kids, to make sure they didn't have some sort of physical problem (neither have reached puberty yet.) They were fine and she went back in and flushed it again. Same thing... blood in the water. She went to her other bathroom and flushed that toilet a few times and it was clear each time. She said she kept flushing the mysterious potty off and on all day with same results. The water continued to look as if blood was in it, until her hubby came home. When she went to show it to him... the water was clear. This bathroom is the room which this "shadow" goes to as it crosses the hall on almost a nightly basis. Another note, she has on several occassions seen what she thought was the silohuette of her daughter in there late at night, only to find that her daughter is sound asleep in her own bed. Now... any ideas of what might be going on here, or anyone know of a good plumber? [Wink] I'm thinking of loaning her my digital cam or going over and taking some pics myself at night, if she will let me.

That is just freaky. Is there anyway her pipes in that particular potty could be rusty and causing a discoloration in the water. Is this an older house? Even if plumbing has been replaced with PVC pipe, some galvanized pipe might be around, with deposits of iron oxide either in the pipe or a valve. According to hubby it can occur in the water itself. Anyway, this could account for the discoloration. Iron oxide is VERY red and will resemble blood. We had a similar event in this house and that was what was going on.

I'd still take some pics, it couldn't hurt! However, I don't think it is the potty that is haunted!

A haunted potty! [Laughing] That's worse than having alligators in the toilet. Omg, I aint saying nuffin else. How funny. Anyway, I talked to her today and she says it hasn't happened since. The house is old, it's Victorian. The plumbing has been replaced several times, the last time being about 7 years ago. I'm not sure what type of pipes they have. What you're saying makes sense. I may still take pics over there because of the other things that have gone on. My house is also Victorian and our pipes have been replaced with pvc and I haven't had that problem. Thanks for the info, I'll have to check it out. I'm still laughing at the thought of a haunted potty. Any ghost that would haunt a potty is a glutton for punishment. [Pooper] lmao
