I am setting up an investigation team to check out some of the haunted locations in my area. I wondered if there is any advice you could give me on equipment and techniques which would help us do this.

So far the team consists of myself, my brother and two of our friends. We only have digital cameras and a digital video camera at the moment. Anything else you could think of would be most appreciated.

Thank you for the help and i will let you know how things go.

i agree with beckboo a thermoscanner and a digital recorder are a good thing to have. also take the strap off of the cameras if there are any even if its a little thing on the side for your wrists (helps eliminate false positives) kinda try and be on the quiet side that way your more focused. if any of the areas your going are posted (no trespassing) dont go there or get permission. and if there are four of you try splitting into groups of twos for a little. good luck!

I would make sure and take a cell phone with you. And try to keep your hair pulled back, if anyone has long hair. And maybe let someone outside your group know where you are going...

^yeah i forgot about that also if you have a digital camera do not put it on night mode because it will cause false positives for example it will cause any light source to have a trail behind it.

I agree with Damien99 Night mode will cause false positives b/c of the shutter speed and any slight movement can blurr. I believe night mode should only be used while camera is on a tripod and unbothered. Whereever you all go , just be cautious respectful and I agree with above post , If it says " No Trespassing " Dont , you could put yourself and members in harms way. Once again good luck !!!

I just wanted to tell you of some of the main places we are hoping to investigate in the town where i live.

I think that the town in probably the most haunted town in the UK, and there has been a settlement in this area for at least 2000 years.

The first place, and probably the most easiest to investigate, is one of the local schools. My friends do judo in the school hall, and there have been many reports from past pupils, (one being my own sister), that the girls locker room in that area is haunted. My friends have filmed in the hall and there can be seen a number of Orbs appearing on screen, and i myself have turned off the lights in the girls locker room after the lesson, and by the time i have gotten outside the lights were back on, and no one had entered the room after me. The judo instructor is also the caretaker, so access is not a problem, and he has seen many things as well.

Another place is St Augustine's Church (Dedicated in 1220). It is on top of a hill, looking over the town, and there have been a number of people who have seen ghostly apparitions here. One inparticular is a figure of a hooded monk who walks around the church during the night.

There is The Old Cock Inn (Built 1715). Reports of glasses flying off the bar when no one is around, and strange figures have also been seen.

The Norbury Theatre (which is opposite The Old Cock Inn) (Building built in 1936 as a hotel, theatre built in 1962 from the old dining room). Numerous reports of strange happenings.

There are other places, some of which will be near impossible to investigate, but i'm hoping if things go well we may be able to do more.
