Hey guys,

I was in Alberta for the past month visiting with my best friend. She lives out in the country outside of Grande Prairie, and on her property there's an old house. One night I went out and took a picture of the house and got the image linked below. We had a fire going at the same time, but that was well off to the left. On the bottom right you can just see the hammock and I know for sure that the hammock was nowhere near the fire we had going. Neither my friend nor her parents know if this particular house is haunted. We believe to be so since we were up on the second floor (in the daytime) and kept hearing bumping and banging on the walls even though there was no one else around. I just wanted your opinion on whether I could've gotten something, or if somehow the fire sneaked its way into the picture (though I don't know how since it seems to be centered and the fire was well off to the left like I mentioned).

Thanks!

It looks like long white hair, that is falling to the right...strange.

Hmm, I don't know what it is, but it's really neat-looking! I guess it's possible that the white stuff could be smoke rising from the fire, but I haven't a clue really.

I considered it to be smoke as well, but I don't see how that could be possible since the fire was burning off to the left (I'd say about 15-20 feet from where this photo was taken), and there was no wind. But yes, it is really neat-looking whatever it is!

That's a cool picture! At first glance, it looked to me like a piece of art, or something someone did in Photoshop. It's quite striking. Did you take it with a film or a digital camera? If it was film, maybe a film or exposure defect? I have to say in all these years of looking at ghost pics on the web, I've never seen anything that looks like that!

I don't think it's from the fire either. It's too white and the lines are flowing too smoothly. I have to say I have no idea what it is!

It was taken with film. It could be a film defect, but the only ones I've seen with the film I've used so far are random black lines. Exposure defect is also possible, but I'm not sure how it happened in this picture.

Would it help if I also posted a picture of the old house I was aiming at? It won't be from exactly same angle, but you can get the general idea of what I was aiming at, and perhaps find something that could've caused the firey look.

That is a cool pic, it would be neat to enlarge it and mount it actualy. Not sure at all what it might be. It may help to see the other pic. Is this the full picture of this one?

Yes, that is the full picture. I'm linking to a picture of the house I was aiming at (see below). I boxed off the specific area I was shooting, and the 'X' was about where I was standing. The hammock is right above the 'X' and the fire pit is off to the left where the lawn chair is. Hope this helps, but I am leaning more towards a developing/exposure error. (I still have a bit of hope it could be 'something else' though! [Wink] )

I was wondering if you could zoom into the right side of the house. I see what you are talking about Kyle, I thought it looked like something was there.

Looking at the pictures again, the fiery one does resemble ecto, though I've never seen it take on that appearance before (but then, I haven't seen many ecto photos either).

Looking at the picture of the house, I see something in the upstairs window too, but the pic is too small to make any determination as to what it is. It could be a reflection, or an object (or dirt) on the window, or it could be an apparition, no way to be sure without seeing a higher resolution shot (do you have one Jen?)

I also see the "glow" immediately to the right of the house, but my first impression is that it's a tree trunk. Once again, there's not enough detail in the posted pic to be sure what it is.

Hi Yall:

I enlarged the old house pic, and I cropped out the right back corner of the house. Is this where the fire is burning? It looks like a fire burning in a container or something just behind the house. I think what is in the window, is a relfection in the glass from the trees or something. Anyway, yall can maybe see the pic a little better.

The window of the house looks to me like it could be a bird perched there. As for the side of the house was very odd, when I seen the first pic of the house it looked like it could have been a tree. Hmmm... Closer up it does look as though it could be something else. Like a woman in a dress peaking out. Might just be me though. I am the type of person who can feel things rather than see. If I were they it would a different story. I have family that live in Grand Prairie and they say that a lot of the buildings and houses aruond there are very old. Ya just never know what to expect when you move into a place. Thanks for sharing the pics!
