Hi from central Fla. . . Wish me luck with Hurricane Frances bearing down on us.
anyway, the reason I'm nosing around this web site , is to help a family member. She seems to have mean man ghost, he could have been accidently brought down from Mass. by her mother years ago. Her mother seemed to be able to control him. But he is a plague to my sister-in-law. I've done a little research and plan on a simple banishing spell in the near future. Oh, he manifests himself with cold spots. Frightens the children. Turns lights off and on. At least we think it's only one ghost. We'd appreciate any advice.

Some spirits really are just malevolent BUT your ghostie may not be trying to scare you....many times they simply are needing your attention for some reason. Not sure if this is your situation though. Have you tried communicating with it/them to see why they continue bothering you?

Welcome to SpiritKeep! Sure hope you will stay safe from that hurricane! It sounds like it will be taking it's sweet time moving across Florida. Many blessings and good thoughts from me to keep you and your family safe!

Try talking to your ghostie... you will probably not get a verbal answer, but you can tell them not to do certain things because they bother you, or they are scaring the children, etc., and it will often cause them to cease that activity. You can also tell them that they don't belong in your home, and for them to "move toward the light", because all of their friends and loved ones are waiting for them there. Be serious in your tone, and say these thing aloud when you feel the spirit is near. Make it known to them that they are not welcome in your home. It might make you feel a little bit silly, but don't let that bother you. I have known this method to work on a number of occasions, but of course, I can't place a guarante on it... but it is certainly worth a try. You may be amazed at your success. Good luck!

Thanks so much for your good wishes Azspirit and Cindy. I think they're working! Thanks for the ideas. I'll try telling him to leave first. But just in case I think I will take Cindy's advice and check out the ghosts and spirits forum. I'll keep you posted on the results.
