Does anyone know what a "blue" orb signifies? The reason for my question is that a friend of my sons (age 20) says he sees this "blue ball of light" in his house quite often. He says sometimes it is still, & others it (for lack of a better term...) "swooshes" through the room/house. His house is quite old, although it was renovated before he & his family bought it. There have been other occurances also, I'll try to post them later, but as for now I'm just curious what the "blue" means...I have heard it means the spirit isn't a very good one...Any help will be greatly appreciated! Oh, by the way, is there anyone from Tennessee???

I don't know the meaning of an "orb" being blue. However, everything I've read about the color blue, is good, spirituallly speaking. In many cultures blue is significant in religious beliefs, brings peace, or is believed to keep the bad spirits away. Blue conveys importance and confidence without being somber or sinister, as in the blue power suit of the corporate world and the blue uniforms of police officers. Feeling blue or getting the blues represents the extremes of the calm feelings associated with blue, like sadness or depression, lack of strong (violent) emotion. I found this list of what the color blue represents:

So, I would think a "blue orb" would not be menacing. Just some food for thought.

Hmm that unusual. I agree with Pate. Blue usually signifies a highter state of being which indicates a benevolence, love, compassion, etc..

What kind of blue are you talking about? Light blue. Transluscent blue. Dark blue. Blue/black?

I have a guardian angel that gives off the warmest most wonderful blue. It's like love and comfort in a color.

I've heard that if the "orb" is blue that it is an older soul.

Thanks to all who replied to my post! The information given was very helpful. As for what color blue the orb is (or whatever it would be called...) I really don't know. I myself have never seen it, my sons friend just said it was blue...but from what all of you said, it isn't anything to be worried about. As long as it is "good" & not evil, I'm at ease with it. Clarissa, I'm a little late replying to this. I have known of at least three people who have also claimed to have seen blue orbs in their homes, all of them very reliable. I don't think the color particularly signifies anything. I've seen photos of orbs in hues of blue, yellow and red.

In two of the three cases of the people I know, the same folks saw full apparitions several months after seeing these orbs. I've theorized that these blue orbs were somehow gathering enough energy to make themselves appear in another form as apparitions. I lived in a home once where I did not see an orb, but a mauve colored mist would float down the hall periodically. I think that must have been a little unusual in regards to paranormal stuff.
