Hello again...I just posted a prayer request for my sister, & now I want to ask a question...Has anyone ever heard of silverware (such as spoons in my case...) just disappearing?? I hadn't really given much thought about not ever being able to find a spoon to eat with when I needed one, until I read another post about some girls forks being gone...my family & I had gotten down to like 2 spoons about 2 months ago, & I just thought they were accidentally being thrown away when the plates were being emptied, so I got out some odd pieces of silverware that I had stashed away, & put out ALOT of spoons...probably at least 15...& I noticed yesterday while I loaded the dishwasher that there were I think 4 there! I checked my sons room, (under his bed...you know how teenagers are...lol) but no luck! There were no spoons! So, if anyone knows what the heck this means, please let me know! I mean if it is a spirit or something, WHY SPOONS??? lol...This whole thing is just way too weird!...Thanks! Hope to hear an explanation soon! Clarissa

Hi Clarissa....I have had several items just up and disappear. But they always show back up, even if they show up in the weirdest places. But I always get them back. My husband was working on a computer, needed to use his XP c.d. He couldn't find it anywhere. He is very particular about his computer stuff and keeps all of it in certain place. My daughter and I don't touch his computer stuff, because when he needs something, he needs it now and he dosen't have time to go looking for it. Well, he was past the point of frustration trying to find the c.d. and said out loud .."ok whoever took it please put it back" We all were in the kitchen and his computer room is off of the kitchen so we would of seen our daughter take the c.d. back in the room, if she had taken it. She didn't but he walked in and there the c.d. was just as pretty as you please sitting by the keyboard.
Do you have any activity in your house? If so...I would say out loud..please put the silverware back. See if that works. Stranger things have happened....it's worth a try. Keep us posted....Deb [Rainbow Smiley]

I wonder if asking spirits to keep their hands off the remote control to my tv would work? That thing is always missing! [Wink]

We've had similar experiences of missing items in our house as well.

We're missing 2 long leather dog leashes.......cannot account for 5 out of the six steak knives in a set that are gone.......and I've actually lost a tube of medicine that never left the medicine cabinet!

I don't think we any sort of spirit in our house (although the wife of the original owner passed away in our kitchen) but the items that go missing aren't the sort of things that the kids would touch and misplace.

Now that I think about it, where is that remote? [Nutty]

Thanks for all the replies! I don't really think we have a "ghost" either, although the lady who owned the house before us passed away here in the living room. I knew her, & she was just a darling person...I just don't know where the heck all of my spoons are going to! I mean, SOCKS are bad enough (I know all you wives & mothers out there know exactly what I'm talking about...LOL I bet I have 50 socks, none of which have a mate...)I'll try Debs advice & ask for my spoons back...I'll let you know if it works! Thanks again! Clarissa

I betcha your spoons are wherever all those missing socks are. [Laughing] When it's my time to crossover, that's one question which I would like to ask... what happened to all those disappearing socks? hehe

Maybe you have a ghost who likes to hide spoons in socks somewhere. =)

Just because you don't think you have a ghost doesn't mean you don't have a ghost. One of the things ghosties like to do so that someone will recognize their presence is taking objects that will be missed.

I've been busy the past week so I'm just getting around to responding to this, but it seems like ghosts like to take various objects. No one knows why (except the ghosties), but I'm thinking it's just one of their ways of getting our attention. Sometimes if you ask them they'll return the things they've taken.

This reminds me of someone who posted a year or so ago (Lynne I think) who had a head of lettuce disappear! I don't think she ever posted if the lettuce was returned or if it turned up somewhere because it started to smell! [Laughing]

It's commonly believed there are multiple dimensions, planes of existence, where spirits roam, and that's probably where they hide our stuff too. I have a feeling that one of those dimensions is where socks disappear to! Or maybe cold feet are a common problem in the astral plane and the spirits are borrowing our socks to keep their feet warm! =) Either that or washing machines double as a portal to the other side somehow. I wonder if someone could create a portal by modifying a washing machine and climbing inside. =)

LOL Kev... I'll modify the washing machine if you'll volunteer to climb in. If it works, would you mind bringing my socks back? [Laughing]

Hi everyone,
Well, I would really like my keyless entry for my car back! In July it went missing, with all my keys of course! I remember exactly where I put them. I have tore apart and cleaned to no end looking for them.
And to add insult to injury when I am walking out the door sometimes, my car trunk just pops open? LOL Curt got so aggravated and swore the missing keys were in my purse he dumped my purse out after seeing the trunk open in its own.
Here is to missing belongings! I sure hope all my missing socks don't all appear at once! I'd have to move out of the house! LOL
Take care,
Pig

I think there is a sock gremlin out there that lurks in the laundry room of unsuspecting victims waiting to suck up all the left-footed socks when our backs are turned. Kevin I too vote for you to take the dive in to see if your theory works and if it does be a dear and bring me back our socks. [Big Grin]

Ah yes the mystery of the vanishing items. I too have had many items simply vanish. Have had things go missing for weeks to appear again in the strangest places. Have also had things moved to another location that ended helping me find something I was searching for. Just this past Thursday I was tearing my bedroom apart searching for a key to a little fire box we have as my son needed his birth certificate for Friday morning and I couldn't for the life of me recall where I hid it. I was at my wits end and was ready to find a way to break into the box when I decided to ask for help. So out loud I asked for whoever was here or for one of my loved ones on the other side to help me out. I gave it one last go and searched on. I decided to exapnd the search and look in a closet in the bathroom (why there who knows). I have several shoe boxes in there (in my vain attempt to keep organized) and in one I put soaps and razors. Although I knew I wouldn't put the key there I still looked in it and was very suprised to find a couple of old coins. I have little collection of old coins that I have found over the years which I keep in a good concealed hiding spot that only I know of. It baffled me to find a couple of coins there I mean really why would they be with my soaps and razors and who the heck put them there?? Better yet who found me perfect hiding spot. Well turns out good thing they were there as when I returned them to their rightful place low and behold there was the key with the coins!! I guess I got the help I asked for after all. So Clarissa as others have said asking for the spoons to be returned just might work.

I agree with Nakis, I also don't feel that just because you have not had a reason to believe that ghosts or spirits are in your home doesn't mean they are not. I believe they are everywhere. When you consider the countless number of ghosts that walk among us I imagine there are few places if any they have not ventured into. With spirits, being loved ones, friends and acquantincies that have crossed over, I feel they visit us often. I also agree the vanishing spoons is likely someones way of letting you know they are there. Maybe the little old lady that died there is coming back to let you know she is still watching over the place or she really likes your spoons?

Peg, good thing that only the trunk pops open for if the car starts going for a spin on it's on then you have a bit of a problem. [Wink] [Laughing] Oh and thanks for the vision of coming home to find a mountain of socks filling your living room - what a hoot that would be!

Hey Cat! A "sock gremlin..." I love it!! LISTEN UP EVERYBODY!!! I have the solution to the disappearing socks! My sister who lives in Virginia has the same problem (I guess that means the "gremlins" are nationwide....LOL)she has 2 sons, (18 & 14) & a daughter (11, but she already wears a 9 shoe!) anyway, she got tired of having only 1 sock of each pair, so she simply went out & bought all the kids, (& herself) the same exact socks, plain white...no way they won't have a mate...well, she may still end up with missing socks, but at least it won't be as apparant...hehe! That'll show 'em! [Laughing] Oh, & as for my spoons...I did what I was told, & asked for them back (nah, I didn't feel TOO stupid in the kitchen by myself telling a ghost to give me back my **** spoons..lol, no, actually I asked very nicely, wouldn't want to tick it off! hehe..) So, they have started showing up, one at a time, here & there, which I'm sure is where they have been the whole time, but it still doesn't explain the socks! Those darn things are just GONE! LOL So, if everyone will just go out & buy 50 pairs of white socks, maybe it will take the fun out of it for the gremlins & they'll move on to something else! Lets just hope they don't set their sites on shoes...LOL Thanks for the help! Clarissa

LOL! [Laughing]

Sorry that I am responding to this so late! Kevin...that's a great idea! A washing maching portal! You know, it does make some sense though...other wise there is no explanation for those missing socks!

Clarissa, I'm glad that your spoons are slowly re-appearing. Are you finding them in places that you previously checked? The whole items gone missing phenomenon is really something else! =)

I don't think we'll ever truly solve the mystery until one of our ghost friends takes a GPS tracking transmitter or something. Maybe Clarissa can attach a transmitter tag to one of her spoons and leave it on the counter. =) Glad to hear you're getting your spoons back.

I still have to wonder if Lynne ever got her head of lettuce back, or if it started to smell! [Laughing]

I also vaguely recall someone posting that their cell phone disappeared once. They should have called the number to see if they could hear it ring, or if someone would answer it! Actually, maybe it was my idea to have Lynne or someone leave a cell phone out for their ghost to snatch. I have to wonder if a ghost has ever "hid" a cell phone, or cordless phone, so it could be tracked down.

This reminded me, an older gentleman who attends our church, recently lost his wife. He placed a cell phone in the coffin with her. I asked my mom, since she is friends with them, if he said why he did it. She told me that the couple had discussed it, before she passed away. Now, I'm wondering if he called it, or if he got any calls from her. Hmmmm... that's something I'm going to have follow up on.

The thing about the cell phone in the coffin is too scary! You have to find out the outcome of this one! I love to watch Sylvia Browne on t.v. (& I love her books!...) Anyway, I saw her on Montel one morning, & there was a lady in the audience who said she buried her mother with a certain ring on her finger, & one day she was looking through a drawyer, & there was the ring! She asked Sylvia Browne if it really was the ring her mother was buried with & she said yes...Montel asked her if you were to look in the coffin would the ring be there & she said no! She went on to tell how spirits are able to move objects, etc. & that the ladies mothers reason for giving the ring back was just to say "hey, look what I can do!" I just wish whatever is taking my spoons & socks would realize that I am not at all impressed by what they can do! lol!
Take care all, Clarissa
