I was wondering if anyone has ever expirenced this also. Sometimes when I go to sleep I'll dream, and in that dream I'll go sleep again and have another dream, and then sleep in that dream and dream again! [Confused] The dreams aren't frightening or odd, they're just dreams, but then when I wake up I have to "pop" through all those dreams to wake up and it happens in an instant. strange huh?

Computer programmers call code that calls itself "recursive code", seems to me like you have recursive dreams! =)

It's interesting that you have to wake up at every level before you wake up for real.

Have you ever counted how many "nestings" you experience? I wonder if anyone has set a record! =)

Well, I'm sure I've gone 'down' four levels. Each level I went down took me further and further from my home base, which would be my bedroom, and every level became less and less familiar. like I was entering different worlds. Well,... maybe I just watched too much sci-fi! [Laughing]

I don't know about anyone setting a record, would there be such a thing? [Confused]

What type of dreams are they? Are they vivid and in color, do they have a pattern in that they are all linked in some way? Are they of familiar surroundings or people etc? Maybe your actualy out touring around (OBE) and visiting differnt levels and rather than re-enter in one shot you come back down through the levels you went out in? Have you ever experienced and out of body that you recall? We all do it you know, just we don't always remember it.

Hi, Cat. The dreams at first take place around my bedroom or in the house some where. Then the next one may take place in the countryside somewhere, the following one is usually a place I don't recognize with less vegitation and more sand dunes than anything else. The next one was like a desert and I find myself walking across the sand with the hot sun beating down on me. I have no idea where I'm walking to or what world I'm in. At one point I was afraid to go into another level because I thought it was going to be worse than the one I was presently in. They are vivid and colorful except the last one which only has a lot of sand and not much else. It has been about four years since I've had this type of dream but the memories of going into those dream stages always stayed with me and I wondered if anyone had ever had that type of dream? As for OBE's, yeah,...I love doing that. However it's not as strong as it once was. Sorry for going on and on [Sigh] ,but I'm glad there are people here to talk to about this kind of expirence. There is so much we don't know about our capabilities.

I had a horrible nightmare once that was kinda like that, only the other way around sort of... I kept waking up from dreams, but I never seemed to wake up for real! It doesn't sound like much, but it was very frightening! It took me almost half a day to trust reality when I actually DID wake up. (that is, if I'm not still dreaming... [Eek!] )

But besides that... it happens sometimes that I do fall asleep and dream inside a dream. But never more than just one "layer" of dreaming, though.
