I am kind of new to the psychic stuff. I have known about my abilities since I was a small child but I have never known much about how they work. It seems that all of the women in my family who are of the Corder blood line have varying depths of abilities, but most are quite strong.

My question I guess is, does this seem to happen with alot of families?

And are psychic abilities more common in women than men?

If so why?

It would seem to me that it may indeed occur in alot of families but it may be kept private among the family members and not spoken about. I don't know if it's more common among women than men but i'll be looking forward to reading some reply's. None of the females in our family possess a strong psychic ability,..as far as I know, and the only male to have it is myself. I would love to read some of your psychic ability stories. I think it does tend to run in families, but not always. In my mother's family, the women on both sides definitely had it. My father's grandmother, who was Choctaw, also had it.

I think women are just more likely to talk about it, whereas so many men keep this type of thing to themselves out of fear of being perceived as different in some way. I think for men, it is just now becoming more "acceptable" to talk about things like this. They do seem to be much more cautious in admitting that they have an ability, or even believing that there is such a thing.

In most families I would agree that the men keep things to themselves. In my family, psychic things are talked about alot, as well as anything else paranormal. Normally when someone in my family has a really vivid psychic "vision" everyone knows about it. And a few of the men in my family do talk about having it. But I have not met a female over the age of 18 who has the Corder blood running in them from my family who does not have some psychic abilities. My abilities have become more developed over the past 5 years or so. I am now 23.

But these things are talked about frequently at family gatherings and stuff. My second cousins daughter (i'm not sure what that makes her to me) is on the board of Ohio's Paranormal Association. I can't remember the name of the group. But she is always telling us of people's investigations and such.
