Chris:

First of all, when I clicked the link in here, I got a tripod page, saying this required a remote loading. But... I opened my homepage which I use yahoo, and copy/pasted the url in there and it worked. So, I don't know if it was my pc or what. You may want to check it out.

Now, I listened to this, through headphones a bunch of times, changing my equalizer and so forth. There is some background noise, I know external or omnidirectional mics will pick up everything. Anyway, I also recorded it on my digital voice recorder and listened to it through my voice editor program. This is what I hear, and I hear it fairly clearly. There is a scratchy funky noise, then I hear... "Do Not Proceed" If you listen closely you can hear the "s" sound in the word proceed or it could be something else and then the last word is "recieved." I pretty clearly hear the word "proceed" or "receive" at the end. One thing about EVP's is different people will hear it a different way, but that's my perception of it. There may be someone here who can slow it down and clean it up a bit. It definitely has the sound of an EVP to me. Great work. [Cool]

Wow Chris you have something there!

All I can hear is " Do not go there Celia"

Mind you, I'm hard of hearing so I know I'm wrong!

I heard.."Don't Go there..." The last word I really couldn't make out, it could be Celia. That's a great EVP! [Eek!]

Barb:

If you haven't tried this, copy and paste the url for the evp into your browser address line. If you use Windows Media player, it should open. If it doesn't play the file, open Windows Media player and go to the top to Tools, click Options, and then click the tab that says File Types. Make sure there is a check in the box next to Windows Audio File (wav). See if that works for you.

SavannahSilkie has made a page with my EVP and one of hers that has a similar sound in it. it will be posted it to this thread as well. My EVP is also hosted on that site as well which should aid in the problems with hosting it from Tripod.

Here's the page I did, which has one of my EVP's on it, along with Chris' EVP from the Alamo. If you listen to the very beginning on each EVP, there is a similar sound, I call it a "gunshot," type of sound. The EVP I have is from a voice mail, and Chris' EVP is from a recorder. My question, for Damien or anyone who is familiar with EVP's is: What is that sound? Is it something that regularly appears on EVPs? I have it on another one also. It always seems to be on the beginning of them. It's like the EVP is coming through a threshold of some kind, "breaking through," so to speak...(It goes CHHHHHHHHHHH... and on Chris' it is quick and right before that scratchy scratch noise) It's hard for me to explain what I'm saying. [Nutty] I would think it's background noise, if it wasn't on all of the EVP's I've gotten, from voice mail or otherwise, and now I hear it on Chris's EVP. Ok, here's a link with both of them on it.

Wow that is a good one. I listened to it several times and it is hard to make it out. It sounds to me like - word? then whole or hole and word word? and we have recieved. So something (w)hole something something we have recieved. I agree Pate the ending is the clearest in that there is a definite s there but for me I didn't get the p just the r so that is why I'm thinking more recieved then proceed. I hope that mumbo jumbo explanation I just gave made sense. [Nutty]

Really good EVP.

Hi all. I haven't been around in so long because I've been so busy with school. Anyway, I wanted to catch up on my break and see what all I've missed!

I have to say, this is super CREEPY! It gave me chills listening to it. I have to agree with Pate; the only thing I can here is "Do not proceed." I hear it very plainly, even the P, so I think it's definitely proceed and not received.

Great post!

By the way, has anyone seen that new movie about EVPs yet? Looks like a good one!

That is a good EVP I think I here it says "Up the hall Please do not proceed" Were you in a
hallway?
Pate I have read that the noise before evp comes through is called clapping. It is the spirit's energy breaking through from thier world to ours. I have heard the same thing on my EVPs. I also can hear a frequency change.
Pretty neat
