It was quite the bizarre weekend at my friend's house. It started with banging on the bathroom door. I wasn't present for that however it apparently scared my friend and her cat half to death. It moved up to last night hearing a voice of a female. I wasn't talking, she wasn't talking and the children were fast asleep (it was 4am). The big show came this afternoon. My friend and I were looking out the kitchen window discussing who was going to go and put up the zoo golf set that the kids left out when I heard a noise. I looked down and saw the plastic golf ball from the aforementioned golf set bouncing across the back porch. The wind was blowing slightly however it appeared like someone had picked the ball up and bounced it off the porch. I think that the ghost in her house is in some serious need of attention. [Shock]

Good grief girl...that's pretty spooky! I doubt a slight wind would've caused the ball to bounce like that. Well, me thinks your friend needs to give this houseguest some serious attention before they start throwing bigger objects! [Eek!]

We were discussing Christmas so perhaps the ghost was simply trying to insure that he/she wasn't left off the list. On a related topic, does anyone know how to trace the ownership of a house? I know who buildt the house, and who my friend bought it from however I don't know the inbetween owner there. I'm really curious at this point as to what is going on there.

You can go to the County Courthouse and research the deed to the house there. Your friend's deed should have the name of the previous owner, then you look up that owner to see who they bought the house from, and so on until you get back to the builder and/or first owner.

You can also research deaths from that county as well, most likely in the same room or one adjacent to it at the Courthouse. After you find the all the owners of the house, research the names in the deaths index. Don't forget to include possible relatives of the owners (such as children) whose names would not be listed on the deeds.

If you go to do this, prepare to spend some time there... Hope this helps!
