Pate,
I wouldn't bite your head off. I am here to learn. Thank you, we do not have moss here like you guys down south. What do you think of the guy that looks like a bishop on the head stone.
I also see alot of faces in the picture of gathering ghost. I tryed to stay away from the tree area because when I looked at I question it myself. Do you see the lady in the fur coat?

Thanks for sharing the additional pics Sabrina. Not all of them loaded for me though the bottom 3 or 4 didn't come up. Just tried it one more time and the site is once again temporarily unavailable. I have also taken a closer look of the pics that were re-posted as I mentioned I would in my first reply.

Seeing the color orbs in the full picture I do feel these are a lens reflection or sun spot reflection. When I looked at the close-up of the orb provided it did seem there was a face in it however when you look at the overall picture you can see the trees and the leaves or moss hanging through the orbs. Sorry but that is likely what gave the face impression. I agree with Pate the old man image is caused by the moss. With the way the moss is shaped it does give that beard like appearance. I can't see the two faces in the other moss pic either and again agree with Pate there is alot going on with colors and shapes fr the trees/moss that can make one find all sorts of images.

With the remaning pics that loaded including the ones posted by Starlou, to be honest I only find one to have what appears to be something paranormal in it. That is the woman with the parted hair. I tried darkening the pic and the image remained and even became a bit more noticeable. There is still a chance it may be the various shading and lighting that gives this impression, I'm not completly certain on it but the image does appear to be a woman to me.

It is good to closely examine all pics especially those taken where paranormal activity has been noted. However while doing so it important to ensure you rule out all potential causes and consider all factors. I tend to give Outdoor pics an extra close look as with all the shapes and colors plus various shadowing and lighting in them the eye can be easily swayed. I look forward to seeing the rest of the pics when the site is back up.

Hugs, Cat =)

Hi Sabrina,

First, I want to thank you for sharing your photos with us. =) This cemetery certainly has lots of history (thanks Pate)! Even so, I've looked through and analyzed the photos, so thought I'd add my $.02 cents worth; there are a few important points I'd like to make. Let me preface this by saying that it *is* exciting to capture what appears to be something paranormal, particularly when just starting to explore; I've been there myself - so, never stop trying! =P However, as one learns more about these things, there may be and often are logical explanations for "anomalies" that can and do rule out the presence of paranormal activity. [Sigh]

Orbs: I am in full agreement with Kevin & the others that have mentioned the possibility/probability that these multi-colored orbs you captured are simply the result of lens flare caused by the sun. Why? Well, based on the location of the camera (where you were standing) and the subject (your daughter), the angle of the sun (the cam is facing it) was in a *perfect* position to cause lens flare as it hit the camera lens. Secondly and to give further credence to this conclusion, you may also have noticed those faint, orange-colored sun rays (I see 4-5 of them) behind the orbs -- again, showing that the sun (even if through the trees, etc.) was headed in the same direction.

Headstone image(s): I wasn't able to detect any faces on the headstone near your daughter, including a lady w/ parted hair. Perhaps I need to look again... BUT, we must always remember that cement, bricks, etc. go through a leaching process due to weathering. This means that the rainfall or moisture will 'leach out' lime or other minerals from out of the cement, often leaving patterns on the surface of the material.

Old Man's moss face: This seeming face was the most intriguing to me! Then as Pate mentioned the tree moss tricks, I had to reconsider. Thank you, Pate, for enlightening us about moss tricks.. I know you're quite familiar with them.

As an aside, let me say this: The human mind is conditioned to make order out of chaos, if you will. Because of this, we tend to find faces (and other objects) in orbs, headstones, trees, shadows, smoke, clouds, wood grain, (moss!) - the list goes on - when searching for evidence of the paranormal. True, some may well be legitimate, but I'm afraid the majority are not. [Sigh]

I've analyzed many a ghost photo over the past 4-5 years and have learned along the way; I still am. All in all, unfortunately, I just don't see any definite paranormal anomalies in any of the photos presented. No one is an expert on ghosts, but there are others out there that have done tons of paranormal investigations and know more than I; so I'd be happy get in touch with one so that they can provide their opinions about your pics, if you'd like. Let me know. =)

Best,
Kell

Thanks Kell:

Did you see the pictures that Starlou last put up?
http://photobucket.com/albums/v503/Starlou/Colonial%20Park%20Cemetery/

The top 3rd one was interesting to me. It's of a white face in the brick work of one of those burial vaults. I made prints of my pictures on my digital camera at Walmart. And looking at the whole picture I can see that image pretty clear. You have to zoom in to make out the detail. That picture was made across from the orb picture.

Everything else you have to zoom in to find. My question is this, "How much of this zoom in stuff can be true?" Not just my pictures but others as well? The girl with the parted hair is in the pic of my daughter with the big plant, and that's where I also found the old man. I have a picture of my son in that same exact stop taking minutes before. My husband and I were able to find both of them. They were just slightly moved a bit. But you have to zoom in soo much to find these images. Is this normal to find a ghost in pics? I agree with the faces in the tombstones. I couldn't read what was on the tombstones while I was there because they were so weathered. I can see a face or two in the tombstones that Starlou posted in that last link. I couldn't see anything in the first tombstones that were in the orb picture.

And another question is, "Couldn't you zoom in and find faces in any pictures you take?" I haven't took a picture that I made around the house yet to see if I can do the same. That's my next step to see if I can find zoomed in faces on everyday pictures. I don't live in a old house. It's close to 20 years and built by my great aunt in her retirement years. She's passed on, and we bought her house and property. It would be interesting to see if I can see faces in pictures that I took here at the house.

I don't mind if you want to show my pictures. I'm interestd in what they have to say. Can someone tell me a better website to post my pictures than yahoo. I know y'all have had troubles loading the images. I'm going today to pick up my 35mm pictures of my trip. I'm going to compare what I saw on my digital cam to those I took with a regular 35mm cam.

All in all Colonial Park Cemetery is spooky anytime of the day. That's why we went in the morning. On our haunted carriage ride we rode by the cemetery at dark. My kids were a little freaked out, and so was the horses. While the lady was telling us stories about the cemetery, one of the horses was throwing his head up and down. We all laughed because it looked like he was saying, "Yes there's ghosts here, Let's go!" The spanish moss just adds to the spookiness of the place.

Thanks again for everyone's opinions.

Hi Sabrina:

A lot of folks host their pics at www.photobucket.com where you can sign up for a free account. It's a little better than yahoo as I think they allow you some more bandwidth. I use that and www.villagephotos.com . I have a paid account with Village Photos, but they do offer a free one there too. You can sign up for more than one photo hosting site. I use Photobucket to save all my smilies and blinkies that I use on the message board. I use my paid Village Photos account for hosting the pics which go on my website.

Colonial Park Cemetery is a beautiful place, and I agree can be a little spooky for kids at night. I've spent hours there at night, taking pics and I recently tried for some EVPs with no luck. There was just too much noise in the area at the time. The most I've gotten there were some orbs, which I've never posted, because they weren't illuminating on there own, and probably were dust. I'm still on a quest to get a full apparition, and have been trying for over 2 years in some of the most haunted places around here. Spirits are not that easy to capture on cam, and that's why the fascination. If you ever watch Ghost Hunters, you will see how quickly they dismiss orbs. One of the TAPS people told me, that you have to go about it by "dispproving" or trying to find a logical explanation, first. There are so many experts in the field of photography that can take a picture or video apart and give you reasons for everything you see in it. I'm signing up for a class in photography this week at the college, just so I have a better understanding at what I'm looking at. I have a folder on my computer that is literally full of disappointments; but, I have a few pics which are very likely spirit orbs or paranormal in nature. Don't get too discouraged with it, for every "one" paranormal pic I've gotten, I have a 500 or more that aren't. [Sigh] Keep taking pics and keep posting, that's what SK peeps are here for, to give you their opinions and we all love looking at pics. Thank you so much for sharing these.

Hugs,
Pate
