I read about the "Bell Witch" a long while back and they were talking about making a movie about the incident that occured in Tennessee. Trouble is I never heard anything else about it,... I must've missed the realease. Has anyone seen it? And is it very good? The facts on the case are very disturbing,...and spooky. Just wondering if anyone saw it.

Hi Savannah.
Book?...man I guess I really did miss the boat. I saw the article years ago and it was really breif.
I think it was a hot topic for a while, then it died. When I first read about Bell Witch it stunned me because of the events alone, the conversing with the creature especially, and being taunted by it for years. You'd think they'd at least make an attempt to move! But I have to wonder how accurate their information is? It was all word of mouth. And some may have exaggerated the stories. Guess it's another one of those stories where you have to decide what to believe? Thanks for the link Savannah, you are always so helpfuf. Will catch ya for a cup 'o' coffee some night. Later! =)

This is an interesting legend, quite eerie. I too wonder how much of it is accurate or if there be any truth? Thanks for reminding me of it Bobbygee aka Mel.

Good site link for it Pate. Shana I'm with you may have to go rent it in the next couple of days. Your getting an ice storm? Bummer! I've experienced many a winter storms and ice storms can be quite damaging. Keeping the fingers croseed your power doesn't go out. Stock up on candles and batteries. =)

Hugs all, Cat

Hi Yall:

You're very welcome bobbygee, I'll take ya up on that cup of coffee. - Now you started something for me here. I'm setting up a weekend, hopefully first part of Feb for my little team to go on an investigation there. It should be interesting and the town seems to welcome people, as they have a museum, and the old school building and the cemetery for all to see. As long as the Bell Witch doesn't follow me home... Savannah,
That sound like so much fun, to go there and investigate. I wish I could go! I bet it makes things a lot better when the town welcomes it like they do. I can't wait to see what you guys find out there..

OMG! Savannah you are a brave little trooper! [Shock] I would love to see what you bring home! (photos that is...) I'm with you Cat. I've read old issues of Harpers Weekly from the late 1800's and some of the reporting on certain events makes one wonder how much of what is written about the article is actually fact? How creative and wild does reporting get to come up with a discription of a creature that has the body of a dog and the head of a rabbit? To put it to print and have the public buy it? Perhaps the sole intention was to sell as many issues of their paper as they could?
I do however find it a fascinating story!
Hi Shana, were you able to find the movie? Cat?
Let me know how scary it was! Love horror!

Hey Bobbygee,

I sent my hubby out to find the movie and he could not find it. Savannah, what is the name of the movie? Is it something different than just The Bell Witch? Or do you know? I was going to try and look it up on the internet today and see if I could find it..

The movie is called The Bell Witch Haunting. I don't think it is in video stores yet but you can buy a copy form the site. Within the link that Pate provided is the website that offers the movie. I've copied the link below. There is a trailer you can watch as well, looks interesting. [Gasp] I'm going to give blockbuster a call and see if they are going to get any in or if they will order one in. Sure would love to know how much is truth. It does say based on a true story?

Here is where you can see the trailer: the bell witch haunting[/URL]

Hey,

If all goes well, I've got 3 people going along... Hoping for the weekend of the 5th of February. I'm not sure if I'm brave or stupid, bobbygee. [Laughing] Should be fun, and I hope I get some pics or something.

Hugs,
