I've posted before of activity at our home. Some interesting things have occured recently that I thought I'd share with you.

My son and I have both noted an increase of seeing something moving. At times it's out of the corner of the eye and others are more in the line of vision but very quick and still off to the side a bit. Recently we shared the same glimpse in the doorway leading to the kitchen while watching tv together. This type of thing seems to be happening more often to a number of ppl. I've noted some others here mentioning the same thing and have heard same elsewhere?

There may be explanation for this, but I've yet to figure it out. Maybe someone can offer some insight? About a week ago I was home alone and while on the puter (in our kitchen) I heard a door open, but the beep beep the alarm makes didn't sound. The alarm pad is in the back area off the kitchen, easily heard from where I was. I went to see who come in the front door, a little puzzled as there was no car in the driveway. The door was shut and locked, nobody there. I went back to the puter thinking I was mistaken and it was likely the cats having a royal rumble or something. Moments after returning it started getting really cold in the kitchen, as if a door was open letting the cold winter air in. Again I got up to check, this time going to the back porch area. I was startled to find the door leading into the garage half open. Due to the extreme cold of late our doors have iced up making them harder to open and this door always needs a good nudge or pull to open it. I know it was closed when the guys left or I'd have felt that cold soon after, even if only partly open given the outside temp. I was hesitant to look in the garage as it's the same door that some time ago I had another startling experience with (as posted before). The big garage door was closed and all was dark inside. Thankfully a short time later the guys returned as I was a little spooked. There is no way possible the cats could push it open. Not even if it was ajar (I know it wasn't) as they could never push it half-way open for you step down immediately into the garage and this door won't swing open without aid.

I continue to have clicking sounds on my phone, like when an extension is picked up. I've had the line checked in past and all is fine. Yesterday my sister called to check in on me as I've been dealing with personal things recently. As I started to confide with her she suddenly said "did you hear that, my phone just clicked, followed by an OMG the extension in use just lit up on the display?" I didn't hear the click. She was home alone and talking with me from the upstairs phone in her bedroom. Neither one of us were on a cordless. They have a dog so if an intruder had come in he would have started barking. As noted it's happened to me several times and it seems to only happen when I'm speaking things of a personal nature. My call display feature is on the part you hold so I never see it when chatting, it surprised me when she noted the 'in use' message came on for her. We continued to chat and when the topic changed to regular things the phone clicked off (this time I heard it) and the extension in use msg turned off? We talked for another 5-10 mins when discussion returned to personal things. Within moments the phone clicked again and the extension in use msg came back on (we both heard it). My sis became uneased by this having not experienced this before. We carried on and just when she offered to come over to spend some time with me the phone starting clicking again this time it did it at least 5 or 6 times while the extension in use remained on. In case someone had some how tapped in we opted to end our converstion and as we were saying our goodbyes the final click happened and the in use msg turned off. This may well still be something with the phone or lines but it is odd that it continues to happen and even odder that it doesn't happen to the guys when they are using the phone, only with me and only during those certain times? Now it's happened to my sis on her end vs mine but while chatting with me? This has me more curious.

Anyone else experience this type of thing with the phone? I'd liked to tape one of the calls that the clicking happens on. I'm also curious how many others have had increased activity or those glimpses lately? I've been taking pics recently at home, but nothing (have captured orbs here before so will keep trying). I've also tried taping in past and will give that a go again also. Thanks for reading and any comment you care to provide. =)

I have been driving my husband crazy looking for a mouse lately. I catch a small black thing run out of the corner of my eye. It is always running into the kitchen from the dining room and seems to start from the middle of nowhere. We finally gave up looking. Maybe something in the air?

That is very unusual. It could be the line, maybe a loose connection inside the house or outside? Maybe it could be your phone malfuctioning or a short somewhere within the line? The only odd 'phone incident' I've had is our house calling itself. My room-mate said the phone rang one day and he looked at the caller ID and it was OUR phone number! Puzzled he didn't answer it. After it stopped ringing it rang again, same thing!
I would explore all avenues, but still keeping in mind it could be 'something else.' Good luck. I'll keep reading for further updates.

Wow! Bobbygee, that is just weird. I would have been more than a little puzzled, I would have been out of there!

Cat, nothing odd with my phones, but I've been seeing things out of the corner of my eye lately.

The house that I live in currently, has less unexplained activity than just about any I've lived in. However, occasionally I have something happen. The way my home is arranged, I have a large kitchen, a large living room/dining room, and a small room that I have decorated with some of my antique furniture. From a certain spot in my kitchen, I can see into the doorway of the little room with the antiqques. For the last week or so, I've been seeing a dark shadow near the doorway and near and old chair that I have. I've wondered about "someone" being attached to the chair, because I have on occasion seen a shadowy figure sitting in it. However, these last few times, whatever I've seen is about 5 feet tall and standing near the chair. The chair dates from the 1700's and is in the Spanish style. I've always assumed it was a Mexican, or early Texas antique. Anyway, I don't know if what I've seen recently is connected to the chair, to something else in the room, the house itself (that room was the original kitchen) or what. So, I guess I have had a little more activity as of late.

I can't help but wonder with all of the odd weather conditions and everything else happening in the world, if somehow, these spirits aren't being disturbed. I know small children and animals are definitely effected by weather conditions, so perhaps ghosts are too?

Well I always have wierd things happen with my phone.
But I would like to tell a story about hearing our front door open and close.
My older son Brad passed 3 yrs ago. Which most of you know by now.
I was in the kitchen hubby in recliner watching TV. My hubby started calling for our youngest son Jim. So I went to look for him. His was in his room cleaning it. For which I was very happy about. It was a mess and if I had to clean it I would have had to wear glove and a mask to do it. Believe me it was that bad. Now this room was Brad's room. Jim could not sleep in this room he used it to play x-box and take his friend in when they were over because he was the one who fould Brad in there the day he passed. So I told my hubby he is cleaning the room. About an 1/2 hour later my hubby is calling for Jim again. I went to see where he was and he was in the bathroom clipping his hair. I found it was strange that my hubby was calling for him but I also felt that I had to find out were his was. My hubby called for him again and as I turned in the kitchen to check were he was I saw a shadow run past the door and I heard the front door open and close. My hubby got out of his seat run out the front door calling for Jim. Came back in and said to me "Where the hell did that kid go so fast. I looked up the stree and down and he is nowhere in sight." So I went back to the bedroom and there was Jim. I turn to my hubby and said "Must have been Brad. He was so happy that Jim cleaned the room he went out to play". Now both my hubby and I heard the door. Two days later it happen again. Hubby was at work but my son Jim and a few of his friends heard it. When I went back to the room to ask him what was the noise he said he thought it was me going out the door. So I ask him you heard it too. He said yes must be Brad again. Now we never saw the door open and close but we heard it. I do feel the air is heavy right now after the Asian tsunami disaster.

Bobbygee I'm still not ruling out the phone lines yet even though they were fine when checked in past. It has been going on for months now (periodic not constant). A neighbour works for the phone company, I'll call him this week and see if they too have had the same thing happen and if can offer explanation. It happens on more then one phone so it's not linked to the phone itself. We replaced the kitchen phone a short-time ago and it has happened to me on this new one too. It's just odd that it only happens during conversations of personal nature (mine or another family members). That is freaky what happened with your phone. As spooky as it was it would have been interesting to answer it and see who or what was there. I would have been too curious not to answer.

Wacava your experience resembles ours. Sometimes these glimpses (for lack of better description) are smaller and at floor level but most have been as if someone just walked by. Carrie it does sound like you may have someone still attached to that chair? Have you tried to capture some pictures in that room or let a tape recorder run for awhile in there? Maybe a previous owner was attached to it and simply comes for a visit now and then?

Starlou that is a really neat story. With you both hearing the door opening and seeing a shadow leave it sure sounds like you had a visit. =) I'm puzzled to how my door opened itself like that? It's the 2nd time something odd has occured in that area and with that door. The basement stairs are right next to the door and most of the activity involving electrical has been in the basement. Some of the better orbs I've gotten have been from down there as well, so who knows?

I agree the increased activity that many have been experiencing may be linked in some way to the weather. Brandi eluded to that as well in her comments in the moon eclipse thread. I've read that the winter months do produce increased activity due to the static but given the increase has been noted for a months now it may be the air is more electricaly charged by all the storms no matter what the season?

I should have waited till today to write this as more happened last night and again today. I just left in the middle of doing this post actually to take some more pictures. I will add more later after I have chance to view the pics (took about 40 between last night and today) in the event I can add a pic as well. =)

I think we're in a period of increased sunspot and solar flare activity right now too, which could also potentially lead to more paranormal activity. That plus winter's static electricity. More juice for the ghosties to drink I guess. =)

Hey everyone!

Well, I haven't really noticed any increased activity. Actually we don't really have any paranormal activity here in our home. Although, my husband and I are going to be putting an addition on our home this coming spring...my hubby was taking pictures of the inside of the house for our architect and low and behold in a few of them we captured a really bright orb. Not sure if it's an actual orb or not...but it's pretty impressive looking none the less. I'll have to post it and get some opinions.

Cat, it's really strange that your phone is clicking like that. Especially with the fact that it seems to only happen when your discussing personal things. Maybe someone trying to let you know that they are near and listening? Could also have something to do with a loose connection...but it seems so strange that it only happens at very distinct times.

Bobbygee, your phone incident reminded me of an urban legend...the one with the babysitter in the house who gets a call that is coming from inside the house. OMG, I'm with Carrie, I would have been out of there! =)

Starlou it definitely does sound like you had a visit. Cat, I wonder how that door opened by itself. If it happens again you should snap a few pictures to see if you can capture anything in that area. I can't wait to see any pics that you may have gotten.

I do agree that increased activity could definitely have something to do with the weather recently. I've also heard that paranormal activity is greater in the winter months as well Kevin. That coupled with the strange weather we've been having could be a good recipe for ghosties every where!

Interesting point on the solar flares Kevin, that may well be playing a part also. Ghostie juice.

Last night and again this morning a glimpse of someone walking up the basement stairs was noticed by my younger son and hubby (my younger son is more uneasy with things). Late last night my son called upstairs to ask if I had just come down and I first responded no cause I hadn't, but after hearing what he saw and seeing he was uneased by it I quickly modified my answer. I told him I started to but turned around and headed back up. Today hubby told me while he was tidying up downstairs this morning he saw someone going up the stairs out of the corner of his eye. My older son left for work early and my other son was still sleeping and I know it wasn't me? The cats started acting squirrely downstairs later this afternoon and when they started to make that weird deep howling type noise I knew for certain something was up. I went down and took pics and did some taping and while doing so I encountered cold spots and at times felt wisps of cool air surround me while standing still. Hubby felt them as well when he joined me. Interesting thing is all seems quiet and warm tonight so far. I did manage to get some interesing pictures. I will post a couple in the coming days for your opinion.

I'm also tracking the phone. Several calls came in and were made. None had any clicking, but then it was all just regular chats. I'll track for the next while, for more own curiosity and to provide my neighbour the times it clicks so he can check it out further from his end. =)

I didn't believe my roomie at first until I got home and checked the caller ID and saw our number listed,... twice! It was odd? BTW, his father and grandparents died in that house.
Cat, I read this article today from the Dundalk, MD newspaper about a woman who started having 'problems' in her home with knocking and other assorted noises. They were on the Montel Williams show with Sylvia Brown and Sylvia said someone may have brought the spirit with them to the womans home when the woman threw a party one day. When did you start expeirencing strange happenings in your home? Do you have any idea why the clicking is occuring on the phone as opposed to say, the radio, tv, or an appliance? Is there someone you know who worked at a phone company or had a unique phone or is somehow connected to 'phones' that may be trying to contact you? Do the apparitions bother you? I don't know about you but if 'something' prevented me from having a good night's sleep,... I would've been GONE!

Cat, re: the phones, usually clicking means the line is tapped or someone picked up an extension on your line. Do you have more than one phone in the house (most of us do!) Does the clicking only happen when you're on a specific phone or any phone in the house?

Maybe you should unplug all the phones but one and then see if the clicking happens. Then plug them in one at a time until the clicking resumes. Maybe your spirit (it's definitely evident that you have at least one) is picking up a phone in another room to listen in on your conversations? =)

Especially if you can isolate it to a specific extension, point a video camera at it, then get into one of your "personal" chats with someone on a phone in another room, and see if the camera pics up something.

This is interesting, what do you seem to see out of the corner of your eye? Is it a dark shadow or something else? I latley have also been seeing something out of the corner of my eye a lot. But to me if looks like a clear blured object darting across the room. almost like a orb substance or something like that. I was just thinking I was seeing things, maybe something is wrong with my eye's but it only happens at home. I don't see it when I'm at work or anything.. Keep us posted.

Shana, that sounds exactly like what I have been seeing. That's why we were looking for a mouse because it ran across the room so quick. We finally realized it wasn't a mouse because I noticed it started from the middle of the room.

Wacava, I though my eyes were messing with me.. I probably would have thought it was a mouse also but, it's not at floor level it's more like head or chest level. It's like a clear blurred ball of something darting across the room. It seems like most of the time when you hear of someone seeing something out of the corner of there eye it's a shadow of some sort. It wouldn't say this is a shadow that I am seeing.. Dose any one else know what this is???? I sure am glad I'm not the only one...

Thanks for your replies, suggestions and sharing of your experiences. Things have been quiet today. While home alone I spent time downstairs and no cold spots, cats were acting normal and I took several pictures periodicaly all over down there (and up) and nothing - not even a dust orb. The phone was fine as well. I had a two hour call with my work today (have been home for some time now due to back troubles) and not a single click or pause. I even switched phones during the call. The kitchen is cordless so I did some strolling while talking but nothing, and no interruptions while on the bedroom phone (it's not cordless)?

Kevin I thought maybe the phone was tapped when this first started but can't for the life of me figure out who would do that or why? We're boring. I use to joke it was the neighbour that works for the phone company but they went away this past X-mas so he wasn't around when it happened over the holidays. I don't use the phone downstairs but can tell you it has happened on both phones upstairs. It first started with pauses, the type you get if you have call waiting and you get a beep (just no beep) then it progressed to the clicking. A few months back I had a reputable medium here and she asked about the phone and indicated who was causing it to happen along with some of the other activity (she had no prior info coming here). Although she was very good and provided amazing validations I still remain hesitant in putting full faith in all that was said as I think one must maintain some skeptic in them with these things. I may try the video or at least let a taping device run next to the phone not in use.

Bobbygee we've had activity here for years, since moving in actualy. Our previous home was an older one and very active due to a earthbound there. I could write a book on that place. Several ppl besides us witnessed things including seeing the man that shared our home. I awoke to find the shape of a man standing at the end of my bed more than once, as did my sons who were very young then. I will never ever forget the night we saw his full apparition. I know for certain some orbs are spirit/ghost orbs for I saw it happen with my own two eyes. I thought he may have followed us but things here didn't have the same feel as there. I was drawn to this place as I was to that house. I believe most activity now is spirit related vs earthbound. But I guess there is always a chance it's both. Many things have happened with electrical from the TV turning itself on, changing channels (remote in view) and the volume of the stereo going up (we've watched the numbers on the dial go up as it happens) and stuff with lights. Mostly in the basement. I know it's not just in our imaginations as like the old house others have seen and felt things. An electrician re-wired the basement (twice in one area) and has returned to check several things for us with all checking out fine, yet it continued? Well I can go on and on but yep it's not just the phone that has our attention.

Shana I call them glimpses sometimes they are smaller and low to the ground and other times higher up and bigger. Forms is the best I can describe it. It's often too quick to tell and I wouldn't call it a shadow everytime.

I've tried my best to recreate the orbs in yesterdays pics and this one intense light. I want to try and rule out everything possible first before posting any. No need to post them if I can easily capture the same thing. Will try again tonight and if nothing I'll add a couple for your opinions. =)

One other note, some time ago my Dad was given an old organ from a church and since he had no room to store it I opted to take it. It's stored away in a room in our basement. I forgot about it till I came across it on my picture quest today. Activity was present before the organ but maybe some is realted to this old piece as well? I'm just trying to consider any and all possibilities including finding reasonable explanations should there be one.

so you call them glimpses? glimpses of what I wonder. do you think it's a spirit or something? what ever it is, it probably doesn't even know I see it.. You know I wonder if that is why my cat get all crazy at times.. Me and my hubby thinks that all the things that happen in our house scares the cat more than us.. funny hu

Shana, on page 12 in this section, I had a post from around this time last year regarding something very similar to what you saw. I had been in my kitchen and saw a shadowy thing scurry across the floor. I could tell it was not a mouse, because it was semi-transparent, and really just a blob. It was pretty odd, and I haven't had it happen since.

No explanations here! I guess I would call it a shadow, for lack of a better description. Hmmm....a ghost mouse. Now, that would make a cat go crazy!

A little phone update. Since my last reply I've had a chance to call the neighbour and they have not experienced any clicking on their phone. I've also been taking note of calls and up until recently nothing has happened.

Over the past few weeks I've spoken with my sis and Mom numerous times with nothing happening. Lately our calls have included personal discussion (my upcoming surgery and/or things going on with them) and again during those chats we both heard the clicking. What is interesting is that I have also recently discussed personal matters with my employer and no clicking or pausing was noted? In past we have explored possible causes and have not found any problems with the phones or lines that may explain this. I can't help but feel it truly is one of our spirit visitors tuning in.

I would like to get some recordings of the conversations when this happens. Does anyone know the best way to record a conversation so both parties can be heard?

I know odds are slim that I'll capture anything but I think it's worth a try.

Hi Cat!

Radio Shack carries phone recorders that pick up as soon as the call is started. I found it on their website and it runs about $30.00. Hope you are able to get something on it.
