First of all, hello I'm new to all this.

Recently my grandad passed away and I had just bought a good digital camera (Ixus) for Christmas. So I decided that in the darkness of my room I would switch off all the lights and anything that can cause a reflection and then snap some photos.

I was quite shocked at what came back, now I have photos of the room with absolutely no orb like things in it so I know that this is definitely not something that appears every time I take a photo.

Anyway, these were taken last night. The second shot was taken about 10 seconds after the first one.

What do you think?

Dust particles floating near the camera lens can cause "orbs" like this. Most of the time paranormal orbs appear as singles, and the most convincing pics are the ones that show the orb moving, or an orb emerging from behind an object, which partially blocks the orb. Also, orbs in pics taken without a flash are more convincing, since it's the flash that illuminates dust or moisture to create false orbs.

Have you had any unusual activity in the room/house, that could be indicative of paranormal activity? Unusual feelings, chills, goose bumps, disorientation, sounds, smells, objects moved unexpectedly? Orbs in photos along with other evidence can help to prove or disprove if orbs in the pic are real or not.

BTW, nice TV. Do you have a full blown home theater setup?

Hi Malc: =)

I took a closer look at the pics, and it appears to be dusties. Try taking some pics at night without a flash. Orbs which tend to illuminate on their own are more likely "spirit orbs." I know that TV screens have some static to them, so dust tends to gravitate towards them. Dusties move also, due to airflow in a room and other factors. Personally, I've gotten to the point where I look for the self-illumination and really distinct movement. If you think about it, a spirit would move with purpose, more distinctly than just blowing around, because there would be a level of thought in their movement. (That's just my opinion.) That may not always be the case, but it's something to think about. As Kevin pointed out, perhaps emerging from behind an object. Try taking some more pics and see what you come up with. If you've had any "feelings" of your grandfather being around, then he probably has been. Sometimes it doesn't take a picture to tell you, you just know. [Rainbow Smiley]

Hi Malc

I agree with Kevin and Pate these do seem to be dust. I have seen many pics similar to these and have a few of my own that were caused by dust being near the lens. I'm not sure I know what you are referring to about the light around the edges? Keep taking pictures sometimes it can often take awhile to capture something. As Pate mentioned if you have feelings that your Grandfather comes to visit then he likely has. I feel our loved ones visit us more than we realize.

Yikes it sounds like your Aunt welcomed in and not so nice entity. [Shock] The Quija board is no toy and far to often you hear of ppl having negative experiences like this by using one. I don't feel the board holds any power it's just the token item that says the door is open. I feel if spirit of loved ones want to reach us they will and they don't need us to use a board to in order for them to give us signs they are with us. Did your Aunt manage to get rid of this Jobe?

Nice to meet you by the way Malc, not sure we've said Hello yet. =)

Hiya Cat =) we have now officialy said hello =P nice to meet you too. hehe.

I have no idea if she got rid of Jobe, I dont think he follows her anymore but I do know he followed her from this house to her new home many years ago. Which was odd because I always figured they could never leave the house in which they entered, but apparently so.

Personaly I and my family do have some experience of ghostly happenings. One house I used to live in (about 10 years ago) was haunted for definite, its constantly up for sale as the owner never manages to stick around for long. We only stayed a few months ourselves.

The things we experienced in that house were uncomfortable paranoia, feeling of being watched, having your shirt or jumper pulled by something that isn't there, being pushed again by something that wasn't there. One night I saw two glowing orb type objects in the corner of the room and ran away (I was about 10 years old by then).

One day me and my brother were standing outside the backdoor (it had a glass window in the top half) and was open. Now because of the shape of the house and the rooms it contained there was no way that a blast of wind could get from the front of the house, through the rooms and slam that back door shut. But something did! I remember my dad shouting "kids duck!!" and as we did the glass smashed over our backs, all of us were quite shocked because as I say there was no way that door could have slammed without someone/thing slamming it.
